It’s going to be a compromised, more expensive product, that has more weaknesses than strengths, and is just a worse version of an iphone that just converts into a worse version of a smaller iPad.

My iphone pro max screen is big enough for 95% of use cases… if I want a bigger screen I just use my iPad or Apple Vision Pro, and if I need to multitask or do proper work, I use my MacBook Pro…

It seems like they want this to do ALL of the things, but it’s just not going to do any of them as well.

So I did talk to my ex-roommate, and he said he already has a MacBook but doesn’t remember the password. He made a new account. I don’t think he needs his MacBook, so all I am trying to do is remove it as erased.

i bought minecraft on my phone because i didnt know it was bedrock and java isn’t available on phone and i’m not gonna use it anyway so i applied for a refund and they denied all times, i need the money back since i’m not gonna use this app anyway and probably end up getting it on my laptop instead. My wife uses my AppleTv account to watch her shows.

It logs in fine on a browser on her phone. If she tries the app it says that my account is locked for security reason and to visit I forgot to reset it.

Thing is, my account works fine on my Android tv, and my phone, a galaxy 21. It's literally only trying to use the app to watch these shows on her phone that gives an issue. Any ideas?

So I’ve been having this problem for years at this point, and gave up on this a while ago but here I again. My problem is that even when I have plenty of storage left, any game that needs to download more stuff says I don’t have enough storage. I got this iPhone with 1tb storage because my previous iPhone was having this same problem but with 256gb (iPhone 13). I’ve done everything from restarting my iPhone to leaving it off to deleting all the games and reinstalling them. The only thing I haven’t done is factory resetting but I really don’t want to do that because it’s time consuming. I’ve looked everywhere online to see if anyone had the same problem and while I found similar posts, most of them were just people confusing iPhone storage with iCloud storage which this is not that. I also refuse to update my iOS because then that will take more space, so less space for me (also liquid glass is kinda ugly)

So I've been a Mac user for over 25 years, and I'm literally at my wits end at this point. I have a MacPro 2020 that I bought new with 96gb ram, best processor at the time, used it for broadcasting during covid. I use this system for video, graphics and music production.

Lately its been laggy, slow and just not as smooth as my new MBP I got last month. So I decided it was time for a fresh start. Followed a tutorial on how to do it, saved all my essentials and did the process.

Disk Utility, erased drive and set it up as instructed.

Installed my Installable Thumb Drive with Tahoe on it, then follow the tutorials, CMD+R and got the spinning globe. Over an hour later of additional troubleshooting, connected my new MBP to it via USB to hopefully fix T2 security firmware which was deemed the culprit.

Now here I am almost 3 hours later still spinning globe, no closer to getting my OS reinstalled.

I cannot seem to get it to launch into recovery mode as the drive is empty now but chatgpt is suggesting Startup Security Utility and change secure boot to medium.

I don't remember needing a degree in order to just do a fresh install of an OS.

If I posted this in the wrong sub, please forgive me. I've spent sooooo much money on Apple products and cannot get support to save my life. It's been extremely painful trying to do this procedure.

EDIT: Ok so it seems that after all that struggle and headache, on chat support for almost an hour, scheduled an appt at the Apple Store, the before I disconnected I said let me unplug my ethernet cable and try one last time. And sure enough, after unplugging it i was able to log into my wi-fi and now its in the process of installing Tahoe. Will post updates as I progress.

My former partner just passed away unexpectedly. He and I had family sharing on apple tv plus with icloud sharing, many additonal streaming channels- etc. A family member who is not tech savvy and is executor- has agreed not to cancel account yet- so I can figure out what to do next. I’m most concerned about my music and iCloud content. I never thought to ask about legacy. Have passwords to my Apple ID and all streaming. Do not have his Apple ID PW- never thought to ask. Any suggestions?

Apple may introduce an entirely new 13.8-inch OLED MacBook model in 2029, potentially creating a new product tier between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, according to an updated product roadmap from research firm Omdia.

The firm's latest roadmap sandwiches a new 13.8-inch MacBook between the projected time line for the Air and Pro models. The surprise model is said to use a single-stack hybrid OLED panel, rather than the more sophisticated tandem OLED technology that is expected in the upcoming OLED MacBook Pro models, which are set to launch either later this year or early next year.

Apple reportedly plans to release MacBook Pro models with OLED displays by early 2027, and Omdia analyst David Hsieh has predicted that the laptops will have an M5 Ultra chip option.

Given that these MacBook Pro models might actually be branded as "MacBook Ultra" models, it would be fitting if there were configurations with the M5 Ultra chip available. But keep your expectations low, as there has never been a MacBook with an Ultra chip, and a previous report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman only mentioned M5 Pro and M5 Max chips for these laptops.

Apple has canceled plans for a foldable MacBook and a larger OLED MacBook Pro model, according to research firm Omdia.

In a new research note, Omdia said Apple has scrapped development of a large foldable MacBook that would have measured between 16.1 and 18 inches when unfolded. It was previously reported that this device had already slipped out of its original 2026 production window, with Omdia among the firms tracking it at the time, though under that earlier reporting it was generally described as a large-screened foldable iPad rather than a MacBook.

According to a new OLED adoption roadmap published by research firm Omdia, Apple still intends long-term adoption of OLED panels across MacBooks and iPads, but the transition pace has recently changed, owing to higher memory and component costs.

Previously, Omdia had expected Apple to discontinue its existing LCD-based models sooner, once its 14-inch and 16-inch OLED MacBook Pro models arrive – either this year or in early 2027.

So I live in the US and my brother lives in the UK. I have an Apple One family account that I share with all my family. My brother joined and I see that he has access to iCloud, Music, TV and Arcade (it says this on my phone). But on his phone it says he has access to iCloud. It doesn't list the other things.

We don't do any purchase sharing.

His region is the UK and mine is the US. Is this a region issue? Or could it be that he isn't signed in to Apple Music, or the Media and Purchases thing correctly? Aren't there two types of accounts to sign in to?

A bit of back story: He was on this family account with me but then left and just came back into the fold last week. I vaguely remember him watching apple TV stuff in the past but now that he's back on he can't.

I noticed deleting something from the bookmarks and reading list has become a nightmare for me. I delete them, I wait for them to sync across my iPhone & Mac, and sometime later boom, they're back to a snapshot latest shot combo where I have everything. The ones I deleted, duplicate copies of the ones I edited (one with old link, one with new link) — all are back. it's a garbage arena! More accurate to say it's a union of 2-3 old snapshots.

I tried deleting the Safari data from iCloud. I tried switch off-on iCloud syncing of Safari in many different combos, including restart combos. But they either are lost — like no data at all, or everything I ever created.

Please help. I'm losing my mind. 😭 Gemini & ChatGPT hasn't been helpful at all.

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the pathetic customer service I have received from Apple.

I purchased a charging cable from the Apple Online Store, but unfortunately, I mistakenly ordered a USB-A to USB-C cable instead of the USB-C to USB-C cable that I actually needed. I realized my mistake immediately after placing the order and promptly contacted Apple Customer Care for assistance.

As per the instructions provided by Apple’s customer care representative, I returned the product through the prescribed process. Since then, however, I have been continuously struggling to get my refund.

Despite multiple follow-ups, I have received no proper resolution, no clear explanation, and no concrete timeline for my refund. Every time I contact customer support, I am either given vague responses or asked to wait further. This is completely unacceptable from a company like Apple.

A simple return and refund has turned into a frustrating and exhausting experience. The lack of accountability and ownership from Apple’s customer service team is extremely disappointing.

Apple needs to stop making customers run from one support representative to another and take responsibility for resolving the issue. I want my refund processed immediately, along with a clear explanation for the unnecessary delay.

This is not the level of service one expects after purchasing directly from the official Apple Online Store. Absolutely pathetic experience.

M1 MacBook stuck in APFS snapshot boot for 3 weeks. Audio jack also died simultaneously. Both "fixed" after unplugging for 2 weeks (battery drained). Seems like a logic board hardware issue?

**Timeline:**

**Week 1-3:** Laptop kept entering recovery mode suddenly. Screen would go blank. System diagnosed as running from `/dev/disk3s1s1` (APFS snapshot) even though I tried everything. First Aid and disk health checks showed no errors.

**Week 3:** Because of the issues, I closed the laptop and unplugged it completely for 2 weeks. Battery drained fully. - **Day 1 of plugging back in:** Everything works again! BUT I'm still technically booting from the snapshot (`df -h /` shows `/dev/disk3s1s1`).

**Also discovered:** The earphone/headphone socket completely stopped working around the same time as the snapshot issues started.

**Current Status:**

- Laptop is working fine now (no crashes, no recovery loops)

- Still running from APFS snapshot, not the main volume

- Audio jack is completely dead (no sound output from jack)

- Concerned this will happen again

**What I Already Tried (nothing worked):**

✗ First Aid & Verify Disk (all green, no errors found)

✗ Full macOS reinstall (3+ times)

✗ macOS OS upgrade (tried multiple versions)

✗ Terminal commands to force boot from main volume

✗ Nothing worked until I unplugged it for 2 weeks

Even after reinstalling the OS 3 times and upgrading multiple times, the system STILL booted from snapshot mode. Only after unplugging it completely and letting the battery fully drain for 2 weeks did it seem to "reset" and work again. The fact that BOTH the snapshot issue AND the audio jack failed at the exact same time makes me think this isn't software — this is a hardware/power management issue on the logic board.

**Questions for the community:**

1. Has anyone else experienced BOTH snapshot boot + audio jack failure at the same time?

2. Does this sound like a logic board power delivery issue to you?

3. Should I expect this to happen again? Do I need to get it serviced?

Hey guys! Probably just being paranoid but a little worried here. I have two flatmates ( but I’m currently not at the apartment) and in the past few days they’ve both started getting notifications that an AirTag is with them, and when they click on it it shows their exact routes to uni and back and everywhere else they’ve gone within the past day ( it does this each night at like 2 am). The thing is they both go to different campuses for classes. They’re both understandably worried but they only get the notifications when in the flat. When they try to ping it to make noise they cannot hear it. No one else has access to the flat.

Any explanation would be great! I assume someone up or downstairs has not claimed their AirTag or something, but that doesn’t explain why when they click on the AirTag on find my it shows my flatmates locations throughout the day?

It all started a few days ago when I noticed I had to plug the cable in several times in order to get it to charge, but then this suddenly turned into not taking a charge at all. I tried two different cables, neither worked and they both work on my phone so I don’t think this is a cable issue. My Apple Pencil would still charge on it so I don’t think there is anything wrong with the battery either.

I’ve tried forced reset, it didn’t do anything. I’ve cleaned the port with toothpicks, without and with alcohol, I’ve gently blown on it and I’ve brushed it with a toothbrush, dry and with alcohol. None of these things have gotten it to charge. The only thing I haven’t tried is compressed air, I do have a bottle, but I’m scared I’ll fuck it up so I haven’t used it.

I’ve heard apple prefers just giving you a new one over repairing the one that you have, so what I’m worried about are all my artworks in procreate being annihilated and I haven’t made a backup in quite a while, but since it’s not responding to being plugged into anything, including my computer I can’t even make one right now! And I don’t have iCloud either, cause I don’t wanna pay for it. Is there any alternative way to charge it so I can at least buy iCloud temporarily to make a backup that way? Are there still things I can try or is my seven year old iPad officially cooked?
