LGBT Issues heres an analogy of thw lgb without the t nonsense
so lets imagine, everyone who's lgbtq+ is in a big boat, we're all in this big boat together at sea, there are a bunch of helicopters (the right) flying by, making fun of us all, and being disrespectful for using a boat instead of a helicopter (we didn't get to choose using a boat). then, some of the boat people start trying to please the helicopter people (they will never be pleased), soon, some boat people start acting like their better then other boat people because they're on the front end but the "worse ones" are on the rear end. eventually people start trying to cut the boat in half while others are protesting it. eventually the boat breaks in half, the people who think they're better are happy at first, until the boat starts filling with water, eventually both sides of the boat sink, and the "better" boat people finally realize that hurting those who are on your side to appease your enemy will only hurt you in the end
(also not all the helicopter people are like that and not all the front side boat people are like that too)

Serious Discussion How queerness shaped Batman
Batman has a very interesting relationship with queerness dating all the way back to the 50s during the lavender scare, a moral panic based on the idea that all gays were predators and they’d try to flood their ideas into the media. Batman comics angered homophobes, who misinterpreted Batman and robins relationship as a gay couple. Though it didn’t help that they slept in the same bed, spawning years of gay jokes. Batwoman was even created as a love interest to stop the gay rumors.
When Kevin Conroy got the role of Batman and researched the character, he specifically related to Bruce’s double life. Kevin was a closeted gay man who had to mask his own identity in the industry, and channeled that to create easily the best Batman interpretation we’ve ever gotten. Joel Schumachers action movies Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were filled with gay undertones, intentional or otherwise. While critically panned, Joel has accepted Batman and Robins place as a cult classic in the gay community.

LGBT Issues Appropriate names?
Enby issues 😅
Hey guys! My pronouns are they/ them and I’m a happy little enby with a bug bear..
My mum tries so so hard bless her, and when talking to other still refers to me as her daughter. I dont necessarily mind as I’m comfortable with myself, but when bringing this up she asked what else I could suggest? I only thought of ‘person’, which feels as little robotic and ‘child’ which doesn’t work as I’m calling medical people and trades on her behalf and they inevitably think I’m too young to be handling stuff.
Any suggestions from the crew?
Tia ✌🏼

Coming Out Coming out live on air
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Although I’m not gay, I came out to my mother live on the radio. My intention was to demonstrate how difficult and vulnerable the process of coming out can be, while also capturing, in real time, how a parent might react to such news. My intentions were purely to create an honest conversation around the experience and build empathy for people who have to go through it themselves.

Question/discussion Why is ace seen as less valid than others?
I've heard a lot of people say that asexual people shouldn't be included in LGBTQ+ because we aren't exactly straight or gay. We just don't experience sexual attraction. Speaking from my personal experience, I still feel like I'm somewhere on the spectrum, but sometimes it feels like we're seen as less valid than other identities.
I'm genuinely wondering what everyone's opinions are on whether ace should be included in LGBTQ+. Personally, I believe it should be, and I say this as a proud ace myself.

Advice Is it ethical for a psychologist to put that I identify as homosexual and use he/him pronouns for me when I said in the evaluation that I was Madeline the straight girl?
I had a psych evaluation for social security disability and I told her that I was Madeline the straight trans woman but she referred to me as Thomas with he/him pronouns and that I’m a homosexual in the evaluation, and now I’m starting to think maybe she’s right and I’m just a gay man. Is that ethical?

Serious Discussion "Gay anger is strength." A slogan for a fighting community.
Of course you possibly can use it differently for other communities. I am just speaking for myself. I leave it for others to consider.
Anger is a human emotion and we have it for a reason.
When our humanity is transgressed anger propels us to move forward and fight for our humanity.
The Stonewall Riot was because they were angry over the abuse by the police.
