I hate this shit. I’m so tired I could die but every night I’m up for 2-3 hours. I’m currently drinking wine to see if that knocks me out.

Technically it’s never too late. But the amount of break in effort will increase every year. Seeing my parent and siblings age and seeing their bodies degrade makes me grateful that I got into exercise a few years ago.

I’ve fallen off a lot but I’m still focused on keeping strength and mobility as I get closer to 50.

Anyone know more “hand stuff” like this for my 7yo? Surely there were others that I’m forgetting

I keep them on my keychain so I don’t forget them, but my husband was driving and my purse was small. I regret this.

Would you agree it was one of those movies that had a unique cultural presence. It was even spoofed and parodied in several forms.

Ok seriously had my mind blown because my dog was chugging water and I told her, "save some for the whales!" My daughter (18) was in the other room and started laughing and told me it was funny. I was like, have you never heard that? Or save some for the fish? No, apparently not. They rarely lined up at the drinking fountain because so many kids just have their own water bottles now. Some teachers had like a 3 second rule at their classroom fountain after recess and the kids would count each other out and go, but mostly they just drink from their personal supply. No one yells at each other for drinking up the whole ocean anymore.

First of all, my dad never has hesistated about telling about getting into trouble when he was younger, but for some reason, he's protected this story since 1978.

So, in 1978, there was a monumental wicked snowstorm. My pops lived in a trailer park in Westville In. At the time. From what ive heard, US421 was under 20' of snow. It completely drifted over semi trucks and trailers, well over the mobile homes in the park. As I've been told, days and weeks went by before the snow receded enough to start plowing, and clearing the roads. From what my dad said, they dug a tunnel out to 421, and broke into a semi loaded with prime steaks. Im talking ribeyes; t-bones; strips; ribs; brisket. Any cut of beef or pork was on this truck. My pops said the whole park was open for buisness with one house grilling steaks, the next house had a pot roast on. The whole community came together and shared the stolen food. I got caught shoplifting when I was 13, and I felt really bad about it. That was in 1998, I haven't stolen anything since. Now my dad says hes always felt bad about stealing that meat. Im trying to tell him that he shouldn't feel bad, and really, it was probably the right thing to do. He says it just turned into a big party. Of course it did! It was 1978! Thats one disaster that I wish I was around to witness.

After years of frugality and Spotify I finally splurged and bought a pair of HiFi speakers. I unboxed my 500 CDs from the 90’s and have slowing been rediscovering my collection.

I have to say, I now fully appreciate uncompressed audio. Wow.

So, what do we say, is it time for me to finally realize my lifelong dream of opening a record store? Or is it just temporary rebellion against the compressed rental options that have been dominating the music scene?

Every time me and my wife are sitting on the couch and I ask her what she wants to watch, the answer is always "something funny!" But I can never find any comedies we haven't seen before. How did this happen? 20 or 30 years ago, if you turned on a TV in the evening, odds are you'd find a comedy playing. Sure the quality could be patchy, but every network had long-running comedy shows that put out 25 episodes every year, all of which would reliably pass half an hour and deliver a few chuckles at least. Now we've got a million times more freedom and choice in what we watch, more studios are producing material for TV than ever before, but funny shows come along once in a blue moon. And when you do find a comedy you like the season is 8 episodes long, you blow through them in two sittings, then you have to wait 3 years for season 2. What happened? Did everybody just forget how to write TV comedy?

So my 25 yo kid and I exchange albums to listen to, the point being to introduce each other to good music that we might miss otherwise. I would like to hear your suggestions because I am sure I have missed great albums to share with her. I am trying to show her the brief things she missed, such as the swing revival of the 90s. She was raised on good music, so please don't suggest the obvious. I need your help remembering the good (or just the timely stuff that wasn't necessarily good, but we loved at the time *cough* Zapp and Roger) stuff we don't hear anymore that I have forgotten.
