Independent report finds credible sexual misconduct allegations against social work professor, adult clergy sexual abuse researcher

A social work professor and researcher of clergy sexual abuse has been accused of sexual misconduct, and an independent investigation found the allegations credible.

That is deeply disturbing. People who study abuse, advocate for survivors, and train future social workers should be held to the highest ethical standards. The fact that these allegations involve someone whose professional work centers on sexual abuse makes the findings particularly alarming.

As a social worker, I’m watching closely to see how Baylor responds. Survivors deserve to be believed, protected, and taken seriously. Institutional reputation should never come before accountability.

Hey Now! Calling all Waco Deadheads!

I’m looking into organizing a Grateful Dead night somewhere in Waco. Live music, fun people, vendors, dancing and the kind of scene you don’t normally find around here.

Right now, I’m trying to figure out how much local interest there is and start building a base. If you’d come to something like this, leave a comment.

48 hours in Waco — what are we actually doing?

We’re taking an RV road trip through Texas this fall and Waco is looking like one of our stops.

We’re looking for the Waco you’d actually show your friends — good food, golf, live music, cool local spots, weird shit, whatever makes the city worth stopping for.

If you had 48 hours in Waco, where are you taking us?

And please don’t just say Magnolia. 😂

A “legacy tree” designation was deleted from the design code for the massive Barron’s Branch development, but officials say future agreements will protect most of the live oak grove at the site.

Ear Piercing Recs

My daughter (7) is wanting to get her ears pierced for her birthday. I really would prefer to take her to a genuine piercer instead of Clare’s (heard some bad stories about crooked piercings), and am happy to get a second hole alongside her to make her feel more comfortable. My concern is I’m worried a full blown tattoo place might be too scary/intimidating for a little kid. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for kids ear piercings?

Treasure City Flea Market

I came here for the first time in 5 or more years today to browse and let my son pick out some cheap toys and try to find some tools I was needing for my shop.
What happened to this place? Like I said, I haven’t been here in years so maybe we just came on an off day but the amount of sellers here was so small that we could run through all the sale bays in 15 minutes. Used to be this place had almost all the bays full of vendors and was super crowded. It was a ghost town almost.

Moving to Waco soon. What do

Hey guys! I’m moving to Waco soon with my boyfriend! I’m super excited yet also nervous! Looking for apartment recommendations. We’re looking for 1b1ba, and nothing that’s gonna break the bank. Also what’s some fun stuff to do? I’m an online student at MCC, and I love going to Cameron Park as well as the zoo! But other than that I have nothing 🤷‍♀️ TIA!!

Best ISP options for outside of waco?

My parents live out past china spring towards valley mills, and currently use WacoWifi, and are only get about 10mbps down and I'm tired of them calling me to try to 'fix the internet'

Wondering if anyone would have any suggestions for something better.

I was thinking of pushing them towards starlink, or even just using a att/verizion/cell hotspot device for faster speeds than they are getting now.

If you have any suggestions or if you have starlink and can share what kind of speeds you are getting that would be great.
