Hi, so am I understanding this correctly that all the emphases within Business Administration are STEM? Is that right? I’ve never really noticed other universities having Business Administration classified as STEM, so maybe I’m just completely out of the loop, but it honestly surprised me a lot. Is that actually true?

Basically, what am I supposed to do when I find a cat on campus? Should I just leave it alone? It seems very healthy, but should I take it home? Depends on the second one, which is like future advice whenever I find a cat on campus

At USC, is there an existent social life for graduate students? Do grad students ever have parties or social gatherings or is that strictly an undergrad thing? Are clubs still a big deal?

And with undergrads, was social life only active mainly freshman year? I saw somewhere that by the 2nd year it dried up besides sporting events (mainly football) in terms of partying and social gatherings.

Are parties mainly thrown for fraternities and sororities or are they for everyone? And besides clubs and Greek life, how else are people social at USC, be it for undergrad or grad? Thank you!

I’ve taken two semesters of Japanese but they were both online at a community college. It looks like USC transfers do not get credit for these classes? Or did I misunderstand and they simply don’t account for the language proficiency requirement?

(P.S. if you’ve taken the JP proficiency exam to waive the courses, was it hard)

Essentially, our goal is to build a team of robots, that emulate different positions in football to compete against other schools (including Notre Dame). i’m trying to take a portion of my language credit over the summer. i’ve been browsing the course articulation agreement and looking at languages and CCs course catalogs but it seems like there’s no schools that offer language IRL over summer.

i’m willing to drive far, so i’ve checked the CCs in OC and the IE but i’m flabbergasted at how no schools offer anything. i’m on track to graduate a semester early, meaning i’d need to take the language over the summer. anyone have any advice?

Has anyone taken BUAD 307 with Lars Perner or Rex Kovacevich? I’m deciding between the two and would love to hear which professor you’d recommend.

I’m mainly wondering about the workload, participation, grading, exams/quizzes, and how many group projects or presentations each class has. Which one is easier to get a good grade in, and which class is more manageable overall?

I’m a BA Production major and currently registered for CTPR 440: Practicum in Sound with Richard Burton. I initially thought it would be a good idea to take the class now so I could get ahead and have some more sound experience before taking CTPR 310 next semester.

However, after the first two classes, I’m not sure I like Burton’s teaching style. He mentioned that we won’t be working with Pro Tools very much and that the class will primarily focus on theory. While I understand that theory is important, I was hoping to get more hands-on experience with Pro Tools. I’ve also heard from a past student that she didn’t feel like she learned much about sound in his class. During our second class, we mostly just read and listened to our homework.

I originally wanted to take the class with Flick, but his section doesn’t work with my schedule. I’ve also heard mixed things about his teaching, so I’m not sure if switching would necessarily be a better option. Also If I don’t take the class this semester I can wait and see who will be the new professor replacing Burton.

The main reason I’m considering staying in Burton’s class is because this is his last semester before retiring, and he told us that everyone would receive an A regardless of their performance. Obviously, an easy A is appealing, but I’m wondering if it’s worth taking the class if I feel like I won’t get much out of it. I’d rather use the opportunity to actually learn something that will help me on future projects.

I switched to ECE recently, but have already taken several CS classes. I took a math 225 equivalent online at a CC simply because it was a pre-req for CSCI 420 even though I already knew linear algebra. Unfortunately, ECE requires EE 141 specifically, so I'm being forced to relearn linear algebra topics AGAIN.

I begged my advisor and she was pretty adamant that the EE department doesn't take Math 225 as a substitute for EE 141. I'm sitting in the class right now and I have never felt like I was wasting my money and time more in my entire life. I am so academically ahead of this class at this point that it's genuinely offensive. I'm certain I'm the only senior here.

Is there anyone I can escalate this issue to or am I stuck? 😭

Headed down in October to tour campus. It will be our second tour, first West Coast coast school, first with true Astro Engineering. We will have Friday and Saturday October 16th and 17th. Planned on guided tour and Viterbi info session on Friday, as well the Fall Vitberbi open house session on Saturday. Plan on eating in the dining halls.

Club interests include rocketry and lacrosse.

Hey guys, not a Trojan but visited my gf today and paid the $20 for the mccarthy parking structure, and im wondering how genuinley enforced it is, ive heard of a lot of cases where people just dont pay for parking and turn out just fine. With no dashboard-ticket system or anything and how many cars there are in there, is it really something thats strictly enforced? Sorry if this is a dumb question but im just wondering if it even really matters to pay those $20
