Intermediate python programming course in minor Engineering with AI

Hello,
I want to ask about this course intermediate python programming course. Is it hard to pass and can I study by myself? Because I live in Amsterdam and sometimes it is hard just to come for one lecture and professor said it is hard if you don’t come to tutorials. Can someone tell me about this course if they have done it?

Im doing the same minor, and i would honestly come to all the computer classes especially bc so many failed last year

I feel the lectures is not well organised and I am wasting my time by attending lectures and not getting a clear explanation. And he didn’t upload exercises on bright space. Do you have any advice?

How comfortable are you with programming?

I use MATLAB for ME but I know basic stuff in python and it feels working with logic and mathematics. I am thinking to depend on materials they provide, AI to help me explain concepts and YouTube

They will focus a lot on OOP as well as different types of syntax on how to work with arrays. I highly recommend to do the homework and understand (+ memorize) the syntax. The exam is quite tight timewise and there is not a lot of time to sit and remember. Passing rate was 77% last year tho so you should be fine if you put some effort into it

I think the intermediate python class is the “hardest” in this course. For deep learning, nlp and machine learning you can get by if you work a bit (at least in my year). Also depends on the groups you get for the projects. But i enjoyed most the capstone project. It was a topic i found interesting so the lack of input from my teammates wasn’t that big of a deal.

I followed the course, it is not that hard. It is also not worth it to go to the lectures. Everything is on weblab and if you have any questions, just look them up on chatgpt or youtube
