So for a local competition/narrative deal -and after recently finding my old copy of Codex Eye of Terror from the 2003 13th Black Crusade event- i chose to convert a SW combat patrol into a 13th Company warband. Turns out if you grab a since box of the five mini Red Corsair kits you get enough classic and beaky helms for the full unit fyi.

Overall i was pretty happy to combine those and a chaos terminator kit for the look of these Space Wolves that have been out on the hunt for -at least their perspective in the warp- decades and having to salvage chaos armour and weapons without any resupply.

But then theres the Wulfen. Which i think its fair to say are not as in keeping with the original aesthetic as they once were. The new ones are very uniform and felt like they would need a lot of work to resculpt and make bits fit. But then i noticed how many space regular marine bits i had left thanks to the chaos armour pieces. Almost enough for five more models and wouldnt you know it the chaos terminators had the right size and amount of bases to make an entire second unit of Wulfen matching the original art.

Five minutes later im googling third part wulfen heads and find some on ebay that arrived today and bar a tiny bit of gap filling the leftover parts and a couple of packpacks abd shoulders donated from some old noise marines that no longer fit the size/scale of the new ones ive got them built and overall im pretty happy with how they turned out. Some marine and corsair bits, classic chaos packs and shoulders and these wulfen arms and especially hands do a lot of heavy lifting with the whole angry baboon look.

Im pretty happy with how little work it took and since so many have been using the red corsairs to kitbash space wolves i would recommend checking your bits as a few new heads might make for some really cool kitbash proxies to really match that classic 2003 vibe.

Still fairly new to 40k, and painting in general. I wanted a metallic finish, so I tried basing in leadbelcher and following up with my russ grey. Just a bit too opaque. Any suggestions?

New to tabletop. I purchased plenty of Space Wolves from my local shop consignment shelf. But the majority of them are legacy. For main characters I do have 10th edition Logan, Ragnar, Priest, Murderfang, Priest, Njal, Lancer, Scouts and Guard Capt.

It has to be a 1k army, and my competition is my son who’s playing Orks. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

So im so new and overwhelmed trying to figure everything out. I got the codex and so far all I've bought a combat patrol the 21pc and a thunder wolf cavalry set . But how is this army list doing where am I screwing up or what could be improved. Thanks for any and all help

Does anyone have a kitbashed aggressor id love to have some inspiration because I want to run them in beast with bolters and they’re one of my favorite models but I want them to look space wolf like.

Since Bjorn did not get an updated model so far and the possibility of our fathers return still not out of the question, might this be a hint on the old Ones fate?

Does GW Plan to kill off Bjorn, the last of the company of Russ, once the 6th son returns? Nobody knows of course, but I am in two minds about it.

On the one hand Bjorn is one of the best characters over all and I would t want to see him go, but on the other hand it would be a fitting end to his story. After 10.000 years to see his father return, his long vigil finally ended, he has more than earned his rest.

Of course this passage on the book could just be refering to the end of all battles at the wolf time and Bjorn just does not expect to survive.

Whatever it means, I am excited for the future and cannot wait what will come next for the Sons of Fenris.

Hello! I've been gathering different parts for a while now to build my successor chapter to Space Wolves.

In short, they're more guided by the principles of chivalry than clans, although they are clearly divided into houses and influenced by Arthurian legends and beast hunting.

You can see my kitbash and proxy for Logan Grimmar; the name and lore are still in progress. Instead of wolves, I gave him two "squires" and a gryph hound. Any opinions or questions are welcome!

A friend got me this model for my birthday, and I’m not planning on using him for the game, so I thought I’d have a bit of fun with it!

I wasn’t sure which way I would do the rune on his screen, as technically it’s the right way up for him when he looks at it, but visually it looks upside down.. Kinda same logic as with tattoos really! I curse my logical brain..!

Hello, my beloved Battle Brothers of the VI Legion!

After I came across the 2nd Edition Codex as a kid around 1997/98 and thought the Wolves were just sick-looking Space Vikings (still have the metal models in my parents' basement), I really got into painting and playing for the first time in the early 2000s with the 3rd Edition.

In the 5th Edition, I switched to the Ultramarines thanks to the “Assault on Black Reach” Starter Set and played them for about one or two years. Just like with many other things, my interest in tabletop gaming faded as a young adult.

Sixteen years later, in my late 30s, thanks to a few cool YouTube lore videos and listening to some of the Heresy books, I’m back where it all began: with the Vlka Fenryka.

It looks like I have a long fall and winter of gluing and painting ahead of me. With so many tutorials on YouTube, I don’t even know where to start. I’d appreciate any tips!
