Unexpected new release by Melissa with songs she wrote in the 90's combined with interludes recorded during her touring with the Smashing Pumpkins and Hole. Apparently she had a handycam on her amp during shows which she distracted recordings from (source).

With titles like "Billy Seoul Crowd" and "Courtney Chimes in" this should get interesting!

About 10ish years ago I paid $80 bucks to see them from a 4th row floor seat. I’m not complaining about the prices. They are actually really reasonable for what you’re experiencing, but I couldn’t have shelled out the grand they’re going for this time around.

Nice review in Mojo of the first of the 2 shows in London. I went to the second night and broadly agree with the review (surprisingly!). Though not an opera fan myself (Carmen is the exception as it's banger after banger) I am a fan of classical music and have played in professional orchestras and really enjoyed the interprerations of these songs. To Forgive, Zero, Tonight, Porcelina, Ruby stood out to me espeically but there was something for everyone given the diversity on show and some cool bits playing with the sounds of the strings with exciting use of Battuto and other techniques to create a stunningly rich pallet of sound.

Less successful for me was the video displaying visuals...i think this is a necessary innovation for the tour as Chicago i think had more expanisive mise en scene.

Overall I felt it was a real privalidge to see Billy and the many musicians on stage have a blast. It wont be replacing the original album in any way, but then i don't think that was the point. Well done to everyone

I have loved 1979 since I first heard it in high school. I can still remember my friend showing me his Mellon Collie album and being blown away! Since then I have always wanted to record a proper quality cover of it. Well, now this is a reality! And my cover is on all the streaming services as of today!

I honestly loved the orchestra and thought it worked. Such a beautiful rendition of a magical album, hearing Billy live was surreal!!! and hearing Cupid de locke (favorite song ever) was just beyond :,)

They have been sitting in a towel the last 25 + years. Moved them through like 9 different places. Been wanting to buy new artwork, and I think its time to say so long.

I’m watching the Nelson episode of The Magnificent Others, and Billy is spending 1/3 of the time squinting and another quarter with his eyes closed. I haven’t noticed this behavior in previous episodes, but maybe it was there. Is there something wrong with his eyes?

Received an email this morning from YouTube informing me of a takedown request from Martha’s Music. It’s for the video I uploaded 12 years ago of “Dross” - the good version, not the Aranea Alba one - which was free to distribute and upload at the time but apparently no longer.

Could be an indication that they’re going to scrub the original MACHINA II from the net and make Aranea Alba available on streaming platforms as the only official version. Happily I still have the original but anyone else like myself who didn’t like what Billy did to the MACHINA II tracks with the box set, I’d recommend making sure you have a copy of the original tracks asap…

All the performers did an amazing Performance and all fans in the crowd were super friendly and me and my friend from ireland got to meet a bunch of cool new ppl!

His parents have an authentic first pressing! I did the only thing I could and borrowed it with permission and am recording the whole thing to a couple of cassette tapes.

Am expecting set lists to differ show to show... was hoping to trek to Nashville in attempt to get a GA floor ticket... noticed that they're playing Darker Waves fest, am thinking that might be the move? Enjoy one show seated on the tour and one from the pit? Any insights from other fans? Would much much rather a tour set than a festival one though... not sure what to do or what's feasible... pretty disappointed by the seated floor sales though, never have a good experience with that

It was a fantastic show. I cried twice. Cheesy in places, funny in places, exhilarating in places. Absolutely loved it.

This album changed my life. The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie tour was my first concert, and they helped turn me into the person I am today.

The vinyl? Sadly, that was "his".

Title! Luna is my favorite SP song alongside Mayonaise. I’m really hoping to hear at least one of the two songs since all of the shows I’ve managed to go to over the years have never included either one.
