The long walk, The runner, I'm hoping for a movie about standing around or possibly even moseying next if we're gonna get crazy with it

u/bwoah07_gp2 3h ago
I can't give those movies a chance, idk, I just can't agree to watch plots like that 😂😂
19
u/Cyberfreshman 3h ago
I feel like there have been a few movies in the past that were great, so I said fuck it today and watched this one because I couldn't make up my mind on anything else. Gal is a great looking woman but if I were to make a 1.5+ hour lululemon commercial of mostly back shots and a surprising twist at the end, I would've used someone with a bit more butt. There really was no more depth to that movie than that.

The Long Walk was ok but still WAY too much grab ass and fucking around for a situation where you will be literally shot in the head if you fuck up.

I was expecting her next role to be a Zionists sniper killing forgein journalists, head shooting children. And helpless mothers then pissing on their corpes. Whiling making tic knocker videos.
At the end she would blow up the un and pay forgein politicians visits in the night threatening them to do as they are told....

I actually really 'static' movies where not much literal action happens, if done well. I forget the name, but there's a Tom Hardy movie that does this really well. It's just a dude driving his car while his life falls apart. I'm pretty sure he never leaves the car. He's just driving and talking on the phone, and it's engaging.
Another one is Sunrise with Sam Jackson and Tommy Lee. Most of it is just two guys sitting down and philosophizing/arguing about meaning, God, etc. Maybe there was a physical fight at the end? Damn, I'm realizing my memory kind of sucks.
5
u/ProfessionalMockery 1h ago
The Tom Hardy movie is called Locke.
2
u/Fragrant-Doughnut-20 1h ago
Sick, thank you. Just realized, I could just listen to this movie like an audiobook while I play video games tomorrow, haha. It really is that passive.
3
u/DeltaBlast 2h ago
Buried (2010) and The Man from Earth (2007) are some fun static movies.
3
u/Fragrant-Doughnut-20 2h ago
Hey, thanks. Second time someone has recommended I watch The Man From Earth this week. Looking it up now.
Looked it up, seems neat. I kind of disregarded disregarded first time it was recommended because I thought it was that Keanu movie where he's an alien, hehe.

Yeah, I don’t know what any of these people are talking about. That movie is not this movie at all.

u/Itchy-Boots 2h ago
have you seen the long walk? even the title tells you they’re not standing around.

I am thinking about one where all they do is sleep, where the last one standing or sleeping as in this case, wins. Call it sleeper cell or something. Hollywood has gone to shit, let's help them sink even deeper

The Stand!
A thriller about a murder where "random" people are called to the stand for a murder of someone they don't know and yet.. proof shows they are partially responsible for it...
Will they crack under the pressure of the stand while standing there? Will they be able to prove they weren't standing with the victim on their death?
Or a thriller where the president of the united states of america(obviously) suddenly murders someone in the oval office but he's lucid and doesnt know why he did it. Due to safety measures he's moved to a contained cell with the white cushions and he's using those force jackets as well. A phsycologist has to diagonse the president before he meets BigBadCountry Leader on a potentional peace treaty so the treaty can go through.. For the phsycologist its a lifetime of stress combined into just a week.. for the president? He can only Stand and wait...

We know Gadot is not a native English speaker but for god's sake, cast her in roles where she doesn't need to speak like a native, like a Greek demi-god who has never seen the outside world.
Or, have her taking dialect classes for the next 3 years.1

Is AIPAC funded from tax money? Honest question. I was always under impression that it's a couple of millionaires/ billionaires chipping in ensure that America follows the "Israel First" doctrine.
19
u/PsychoticBananaSplit 3h ago
Lobbies wouldn't spend money lobbying if they didn't get even more money out of it
19
u/Catch_ME 3h ago
It's more than a couple millionaires and billionaires. There's an entire Zionist network that includes Christian Zionists.

so no it isn’t directly funded by taxes. but they do lobby politicians to make the corporations and rich folks pay less in taxes. so in a round about way, it takes money that could have been taxed and gone to the government to do things. soooo no, but I think it amounts to the same. (hope I worded that okay I’m in a taco bell drive thru)

I watched it for about 5 mins, then witnessed the Nike advert of putting her trainers on followed by her terrible running technique. That was enough for me to turn it off.

different movies lol. read both plots and Alan’s runner seems interesting, 3 hours to transport a liver across some distance, whereas Gal gadots one the plot is “her son is kidnapped she has to run around the city doing tasks or he dies she can’t stop” and that sounds just stupid lmao.
2
u/profchaos111 3h ago
I can't believe I almost got tricked by the names
Thanks I'll be watching Alan's runner and why does gals sound like a rip off of die hard 3
2

it does, but with “running around the city” taken in the more literal sense 😭

Watches the first ten minutes. Bad guy hacks her phone and smart watch and tracks her all over London ( hmmm wonder how he did that 🐎) skipped to the end and it still sucked. 9% is being generous.

Yeah this movie could not have cost more than $100k to make. Check the budget and tell us where all the money went.

She has a beautiful face. She’s an absolute delight as a side character like she did in the fast series.
She could be an iconic side Bond girl like Ana de Armas and Monica Bellucci but that just it.
Her acting just let her (or us) down every time she takes the centre stage.

u/Big_Fig_8448 2h ago
I haven’t seen this yet but Gal Gadot is a hated actress so she is always going to be review bombed by people who have nothing better to do.
2
u/Keensworth 2h ago
Why the hate for Gal Gadot?
3
u/rogue_licker 1h ago
She’s an awful actor and mostly because of the Imagine video from the pandemic
1
u/Keensworth 1h ago
I liked her in the DC movies
4
u/rogue_licker 1h ago
She was ok in Wonder Woman when she was a novelty, but in any other movie she just quite frankly sucks. And I cannot see her anymore without thinking about her Imagine video which made me deeply dislike her.
1
u/Keensworth 1h ago
A lot of actors played at least once in a bad movie
→ More replies (1)1
u/LongHaulHomeDawg 21m ago
Yah but a good actor can be in a bad movie. Or an actor can make a movie bad. She's in the latter category
3
1
u/randomusernevermind 19m ago
Well she's a bad actor, but I noticed that in 2016 when Batman v Superman came out, and was downvoted into oblivion. Back then it was not okay to be honest about anything, and people would call you a racist, or transphobic, or whatever and try to cancel you. Then the Palestine Israel conflict happened and since Reddit is a leftist echo chamber, the tone shifted. So now everybody here hates "people from Israel", so it's okay to hate Gal Gadot too.

Man, her career fell off a cliff when people realized how shitty a person she is, and that she can’t act.
You can hide a lot of your shortcomings if you’re acting alongside Vin Diesel and the rest of the Fast and Furious cast….

u/Phoeniks_C 2h ago
The change in the general audiences opinion of Gal Gadot is insane. When she got cast a Wonder Woman people would give their first born to be in the same room.
There was a SNL sketch around that time with Gal Gadot in it, where Gadot kissed on of the female cast members. If you look up the video on YouTube and look at the comments people were absolutely fuming about how it was them who got to kiss her

Lucky she's from the only place in the region where it's safe to be a woman otherwise she'd really be in trouble.

u/Pretend-Literature35 54m ago
I just saw the trailer and immediately gave it a thumbs down. She is a good actor but come on! They have no more original ideas in Hollywood. It is a terrible contrived plot. Where are all the good writers??

u/Capital-Eye 54m ago
By that logic, we've got 8 more movies before we reach zero and something happens. Integer overflow, perhaps?
