And I think the 'pulled it off the shelves' is over selling it a bit. I remember seeing them in the discount bin at Kmart, I think. I remember them being around for a bit, but I think quite a few were sold for Christmas, and they probably did stop production shortly after that. But I was like 10 so I didn't give a crap.

I had one of these. I have no idea how we got it, maybe as a stocking stuffer one year at Xmas? It vanished one day after my mom cleaned my room. The same thing happened to my realistic uzi squirt gun and Indiana Jones leather whip from Disneyland.

I Ned to find a photo of my birthday party / sleepover where all the kids got one of those— we slept in a tent in the backyard and due to “ghost stories” we quickly all ended up inside the family room.

But those E.T. Figures were the party favor we all had.

They actually hurt to turn on, the switch was inside the figure hole, but it was really hard to switch on.

And if you did turn it on it was that creepy glow.

Business unit leaders who signed off on the product concept being green-lit for development. And later approved the roll-out to the market.

Every single person in product development who walked it through each stage
of design.

Marketing leaders. Sales leaders. Retail buyers. Legal.

There were so many ladders this little finger went through.

And no one, no one said “Hey…this looks like a dildo”. Or…”Hey the packaging makes it look even more like a dildo”.

Soooo many people approved this. Amazing isnt it?
