Same thing happened to me, except for cat adoption. We always tried adopting first. On top of a usual long list of requirements, one shelter insists that you can only adopt when you moved in with a pet already (???). More recently, we went to meet another shelter at an adoption drive and came home taking one whole afternoon to fill up the form, only to never hear from them again. In the end, it's just less hassle going to breeders and you don't need to give up all your private information to a seemingly poorly-secured web server.

The new rules would require issuers to maintain assets equal to at least 100% of all tokens in circulation at all times, and in accounts separate from issuers' own funds.

Sounds like pyramids are back. Maybe they never left Singapore though. CNA's coverage is very in-depth here and seems like there is a lot of naive Singaporeans being involved too.

Here's hoping the public awareness is now heightened.

Just watched this movie yesterday, got free tickets from the DJs at UFM 1003 (Thank you!!) and I gotta say it was very well made, and the crew and cast put a lot of thought into it. All the covered text is spoilers, but if you don't want spoilers my opinion is go watch it, great movie and can use SG culture credits if you want. It's definitely a bit long at over 2.5hrs, but it is well worth it to allow for enough development for every character

For a brief intro, the main cast consists of:

- Junyang

- Lydia (Junyang's partner)

- Boon Kiat (Junyang's father)

- Bee Hwa (Boon Kiat's recent wife)

First of all, the title. The translation of the Chinese title is "We are not strangers" , which you notice is really weird because it is the direct opposite of the English title of "We are all strangers". However, once you start to watch the movie, you start to understand why. All the cast are part of the same family, yet are unable to understand/don't have empathy for each other and don't know each other well, and this is really portrayed extremely well throughout the movie. However, they eventually begin to bond a little more, thus changing from "all strangers" to "not strangers"

And this juxtaposition is also shown well throughout the movie, be it through scene, personality of characters, their actions, and even how the camera moves. For example, Boon Kiat is hardworking, thoughtful and generous, yet his son is lazy, playful and selfish in many ways. Lydia was a hardworking JC student and mother, yet Junyang dropped out of school and isn't a good father in the beginning.

Another thing really well done is tension. There is so many scenes with so much tension. I think the most noteable one for me was Bee Hwa eating an apple on a crowded bus that Boon Kiat snuck into her bag, and then smiling because of his thoughtfulness, then starting to slowly break down

Also the character & relationship development was great. I think one of the best ones was between Junyang and Bee Hwa. Initially, Junyang heavily dislikes Bee Hwa as he see her as a gold digger that takes advantage of his father's kindness (Ironically, he is the one that is taking advantage of his father despite not realizing) and Bee Hwa retaliates. Boon Kiat is the one holding the relationship together, keeping them at bay like the "glue". However, after getting admitted into the hospital, Junyang and Bee Hwa's relationship deteriorate even further, with Junyang also being an assh*le to Lydia and eventually losing his job. But as the movie goes on, while Junyang is still very much an asshole, they start to bond a little more through Bee Hwa becoming a streamer by using her sob story to sell drugs (panadol, vitamins, tiger balm etc) online while Junyang acts as manager and supplies the stuff. Eventually, one of the drugs Junyang got to sell turns out to be harmful, resulting in police action. Bee Hwa tells the investigation officer that "Junyang is just a child, he has no involvement in it" and "I got the drugs myself", thus going to prision and essentially taking the bullet for Junyang, becoming like a mother for Junyang. What really does it for me is the scene when Junyang visits Bee Hwa in prison, where both of them start crying, showing how they acknowledge each other and care for each other.

I honestly don't have anything bad to say. Go watch if you haven't, and for my fellow non-Chinese Singaporeans, this is unfortunately a Chinese movie.

Long-term strategy

In their statement on Aug. 29, Temasek said that it views SIA's business decision on Air India from a long-term perspective and are supportive of it.

She added that efforts of this scale take time and are not expected to be linear, particularly in the aviation sector, where outcomes are shaped by industry developments.

Lee Kuan Yew already warned in 2001 about minority stake in Air India without control. Stop flogging a dead horse and cut the losses.
