Is there any free extension for safari, who changed the web page automatically to dark theme

I am asking for something that I need just to configure it once

Title. On iOS. The constant forced page refreshes that can’t be fixed without some unreliable kludge. I only tolerated Safari as long as I have because AdGuard + Ghostery work so well. Are there any other browsers or ad- and annoyance-blockers that are as effective, and let you use custom lists? I get occasional cookie or GDPR notices on stock Brave.

I'm having a weird problem in Safari on both OS X and iPadOS. Wondering if anyone else has had this and know the fix.

On Reddit, if I open a page/thread in a new background tab it won't load. Even when I go to the tab itself and hit refresh it won't load. I have to copy and paste the address in a new tab and watch it load for it to work. If I navigate to the thread in the current window without it being in a new tab it'll work though.

I've been trawling Apple support and reddit for anyone who has had this problem before or knows a fix but I've had no luck. Hoping someone might have experienced this and knows a way to address the issue.

I've tried clearing internet files/cache, restarting, I'm not sure what else to try.

Any help is appreciated.

I've been looking into uBlock Origin Lite, but noticed it asks for full permission to access data on all websites. Is this broad permission strictly necessary for it to work properly, or are there privacy-friendly alternatives that don't require that level of access?

Hi there! I'm using Version 26.6.2 of Safari on my Macbook Pro. In Safari > Settings > Tabs, I have "When a new tab or window opens, make it active." unselected, however new tabs constantly are made active when opened. Does anyone know how I can troubleshoot this? Been googling for a while but can't figure it out.

I found a severe JavaScript performance regression in Safari 27 beta while investigating why my WebGL/CANNON.js game dropped from smooth real-time performance to approximately 3 FPS.

At first I suspected WebGL, Metal, requestAnimationFrame throttling, or GPU synchronization. However, detailed timing showed that rendering was not the main bottleneck. A single CANNON physics step had increased from around 5-7 ms to around 90-102 ms.

I then created a standalone deterministic benchmark using only JavaScript and CANNON.js 0.6.2:

• No WebGL
• No canvas rendering
• No animation
• No game code
• Identical deterministic physics workload

I ran it on the same M1 Mac, using the same unchanged page and local server. Only the Safari version was changed.

Results:

The deterministic workload was identical in both versions:

• 293 bodies
• 1,234.15 average collision pairs
• 270 average contacts
• 810 average equations
• 20 sampled physics steps

Lockdown Mode was disabled and Safari experimental feature flags were reset to their defaults.

The same problem occurs on an M1 iPad Pro running iPadOS 27 beta. The same game and device performed normally on iPadOS 26.

In the real game, Safari 27 spends approximately 100 ms on each physics step. Because the game uses a fixed timestep, the catch-up loop then performs around three physics steps per displayed frame. Physics time rises to roughly 300 ms, resulting in approximately 3 FPS.

This does not appear to be primarily a WebGL or GPU problem. The standalone test reproduces the regression without creating a WebGL context.

The results point to a Safari 27 / WebKit 27 JavaScriptCore regression, possibly involving JIT optimization, tiering, object-property access, or hot-loop execution. I cannot identify the exact internal WebKit component from JavaScript alone.

I have submitted/will submit this evidence to Apple.

Is anyone else able to reproduce a major JavaScript performance regression in Safari 27 beta, particularly with physics engines, numeric loops, or object-heavy workloads?

Worked absolutely fine on my Mac Mini (M4, 2024) until I did the most recent MacOS update to Tahoe 26.6.2 which also included a Safari update. I don't use a VPN or Proxy.

I have tried these troubleshooting steps and I'm at my wits end so any help would be appreciated.

- Works fine in Brave and Chrome browsers (issue is isolated to Safari)
- Tried in Private window (still get the error code)
- Deleted Website Data in Safari for Disney+ and relaunched (still get the error code)
- Tried in blank Guest user account (still get the error code)

Webpages I currently have open are correctly showing as visited, but it seems as though after a while, closed webpages seem to revert back to unvisited. This is incredibly frustrating and significantly hampers my use. On iPhone, if that’s important

A few weeks ago I shared TiledBrowser, A Safari companion app for turning tabs into tiled workspaces.

I received some really useful feedback, particularly around making the Safari → TiledBrowser workflow smoother and making the workspaces themselves easier to manage.

• Choose 2 to 4 open tabs directly from the Safari extension.
• Switch between saved workspaces using tabs at the top of the app.
• Drag panes to reorder them, or continue using the directional move controls.
• Open any pane in Safari with one click.
• Follow clearer first-run instructions for enabling the Safari extension.
• See helpful warnings when Google or Microsoft sign-in may not work inside an embedded browser.
• Get improved session and sign-in popup compatibility where WebKit permits it.

There are still things I want to improve, particularly around session persistence where WebKit allows it, but the Safari ↔ TiledBrowser workflow feels considerably more complete now.

For those who tried the earlier version, I’d be interested to know whether these changes address the friction you ran into — and what you’d still change.

Hi, I've been having this ongoing problem with Safari which is driving me crazy. I can't attach files/photos etc to emails in Outlook, very occasionally it works, but mostly it says it can't do it, try again later.

Also when I first click a YouTube video it doesn't work and says 'Retry' and I click retry and it works.

Also just recently now I can't seem to open chats in Facebook, it just opens the sidebar but never loads.

All of these things work fine in other browsers> I did also try and make a guest account and was able to attach photos to an email in Outlook.com using that account.

I'm on Sequoia and have the latest update.

Is there anything I can do? I've tried emptying the cache and deleting all the data etc.

I’ve released wBlock 3.0, the biggest update yet to my free and open-source ad blocker for Safari.

Basically, this is what's new:

- Tube Cleaner exposes Safari’s native controls on YouTube while restoring Picture-in-Picture, background playback, chapters, and captions. It also integrates SponsorBlock and optional DeArrow. This is an alternative to the paid Vinegar app.

- Player Cleaner does the same for custom video players across many other sites. This is analogous to Baking Soda.

These scripts are still in beta as they are incredibly janky, but if you do test them, I am curious to see how they fare in real world use.

Also new in 3.0:

- Built-in No Autoplay

- Optional Dark Reader integration (sorry, only via userscript, so not all the app's features will be present)

- Less, Sass, and Stylus support for UserCSS themes

- Differential filter updates

- Live content-blocker status and rule-capacity indicators

- Safari’s content runtime reduced from 536 KB to 54 KB

Don't worry; none of this stuff makes the app more bloated. In fact, existing users might see some speedups! The video tools are optional, and wBlock’s normal content-blocking rules still handle the ads just as before.

I noticed that AdGuard for Safari on macOS need its background app running, while uBlock Origin Lite continues blocking ads without background process.

FIXED: I've changed Google Calendar events appiarance: Settings -> Appearance -> Information dencity -> Comfortable. This makes events thikier and allows pick them up via upper events' border for moving.

I've just switched from Chrome to Safari and see some problems on different sites. E.g. I can't confidently move Google Calendar events (event moving mode switches into event resize mode constantly). How to fix this problem?

P.S. I don't have any Safari extensions.

Is there an extension to make the experience of social media within Safari better?

I personally do not want to have the app installed and prefer the web version, but for some reason, I assume the developer makes it the worst experience ever.

Facebook used to be usable, but now there’s a banner everywhere and I can’t even check messages or Marketplace.

Instagram - I can’t even watch videos or check messages or stories.

TikTok - I can’t even scroll through videos.

I tried several apps such as AdGuard, Vinegar, Hush, UnTrap for YouTube, and SocialFocus.

Just looking for suggestions, thank you.
