Please Flair Me! Veteran Edition Services- Rochester NY Contractor

I hired this contractor in early 2026 for an oven installation, deck construction, and cutting an opening in a block wall. In my experience, the work that was started did not meet expectations and appears to require significant correction.

There were also issues with dust control during the project. Concrete dust spread throughout my home, and I incurred additional costs for professional cleaning, Me brand new HVAC needs servicing, and duct cleaning as a result.

I also have concerns regarding the deck framing. Several angles appear inconsistent, some boards appear to be cut short, and the installed drainage system does not appear to function as intended. Based on input I’ve received from others I’ve consulted, the deck framing may require partial or full reconstruction.

I raised these concerns directly with the contractor in an effort to resolve them. After doing so, I was informed that further communication would need to go through their attorney. Since then, I have not received any follow-up or proposed resolution.

I paid $17,500 upfront under contract. At this time, the agreed scope of work has not been completed, and no corrective action or refund has been offered.

Currently, the project remains unfinished. There are openings in my walls, a deck frame that appears to need removal and reconstruction, and construction debris, including a Bagster containing concrete and other materials, left on site.

I also noted that the company does not currently display a BBB badge or active profile. BBB reached out on my behalf and there was no response. This is reflected on Veteran Edition Handyman BBB page.

A complaint was also filed with the AG.

I encourage others to carefully review project details, payment terms, and expectations before proceeding with this contractor.

BRIAN & GEOFFREY KOGLER are the owners. As of this posting the BBB accreditation link has been removed from their website.

No remediation has been suggested in 6 months.

Found some monarchs chilling on a bush. There were like three or four I couldn't tell. Brigton campus. I didn't grow up in an area where they were common, but I learned about them a lot in science class. It's wild that I can just casually find them in the city like this.

Just wanted to post a thank you to the guy dancing on Lake and W. Ridge outside the Kodak building.

My mom finishes her radiation treatments tomorrow, we’ve taken that route past you for a while now, and your dancing made our days a little brighter.

This guy comes from literally the side of the road to cut me off. Then has the audacity to stop his car, get out and try to open my door for honking at him. Coming off 104 going into the city (shocking), it's a gray Durango, look out for this psycho in the Illinois plate

I was shopping with my young daughter at 5:30, fire alarms went off about 5:50p and the store was evacuated. There was no visible smoke, but as we were leaving multiple ambulances arrived. Anyone have info on this?

Please Flair Me! Looking for a Movie-Loving Co-Host for a YouTube Channel

Hello, fellow Rochesterians! I'm looking for someone in the Rochester area who loves movies and might be interested in starting a YouTube reaction channel with me.

The basic idea is two people watching movies that either one or both of us have never seen before.

I'm looking for someone who is easy-going, opinionated, curious, and comfortable talking about why a movie worked/didn't work for them on camera.

A little about me: I’m a freelance editor who lives in the Rochester area. I'm a huge movie person, and I tend to have strong opinions. I’m especially interested in finding someone different from me. Different tastes, different perspectives, total disagreements, and the occasional “How the hell did you get THAT from this movie/scene?” are more than welcome. Chemistry matters more than having the same taste.

You don't need YouTube experience, filmmaking experience, or even a deep knowledge of cinema. What I am looking for is (A) you genuinely enjoy movies, (2) you are comfortable being in front of a camera, and (D) you're interested in doing this consistently if we discover we work well together.***

I’d want to start casually: meet over Zoom or Google Meet, talk movies, see if we click, and then potentially do a couple of test recordings before either of us commits to anything. Being in or reasonably close to Rochester is important, since I'd eventually like us to be able to record together in person.

If this sounds like something you'd genuinely have fun doing, send me a message. Tell me a little about yourself and, most importantly: DM me three movies: one you love, one you hate, and one you’re embarrassed you’ve never seen.

Yes I'm a real person, yes I live in Rochester, and yes I'm really serious about this.

*** Bonus points if you can tell me what the "(A), (2), and (D)" reference is from.

Discussion Great RTS First Experience

If you haven’t heard, RTS budget cuts start Monday, eliminating evening and weekend on-demand service.
Story here

I just rode the bus from the transit center to the airport and it was great. Bus left at 9:15 and got to the airport at 9:41. All for $1. Compared to a 15 minute Uber + wait time, which would’ve been around $30.

Not every trip on RTS will be competitive with driving, but I’d encourage you to at least check RTS for daily trips you take or the next time you need an Uber.

This won’t reach the masses, but small things like using RTS can have a big impact on our area and help make sure everyone has access to transportation and opportunities. I know most people who own a car will default to rideshare, but I’m sure we could switch some of those trips to public transit.

Recommendation Things to do solo?

Hi all! Moved to rochester recently. I’m in my mid 20s and I don’t have any friends in the city. Does anyone have suggestions for
1) Cool places to eat where I can sit at the bar alone (or a table for one without it being an inconvenience)
2) places to meet other people

I live near East/Park ave

Please Flair Me! Photo city

I used to be a regular at the photo city raves until about a year ago I got laced. I’m lucky my bf had my location otherwise i’m not sure what would’ve happened. He said he found me nodding off in the parking lot talking about aliens in my blood. The scariest part abt this is I didn’t drink, or smoke anything that whole night other than my own vape. I let a girl hit my vape and I think she might have put smth on the tip but that’s just my best guess. Since then multiple of my friends and family members have been laced at these events. A few nights ago my 30 y/o brother came home from the silent disco with no memories. He’s a 6’0 tall, muscular man so the idea of somebody lacing him is genuinely horrifying to me if he’s not safe i’m most certainly not. Please stay safe and make sure you go with people you trust and can rely on.

Help ISO of park with teeter totter/see saw!

Post image
8 Upvotes

hello! I have a strange request. My SO has never been on a seesaw. I have been asking people since I moved here…do you, for sure, know of a local park with a classic teeter totter? Importantly, it cannot be the kiddy kind with springs or other safety implements…I want to launch him like he has never been launched. Because he hasn’t been!

thanks for any leads. we live in Victor, but will travel for this.

Help Roofing company recs for a ranch. Who to go to and who stay away from. Thanks in advance.

Roof has started to leak in some spots and it's probably best to replace it rather than layer it. Probably needs plywood replacement in some spots. 1700 - 1800 square feet.

Sports Free Pride Night at Red Wings tickets

Wednesday, at 6:05.

It’s also Bark in the Park.

Tickets are all together in section 203. There’s two groups of 4, a group of 5 and a group of 3. Great chances of a foul ball.

If you want to go to the game, let me know.
