In time people will freaking laugh so hard theyāll have a nose bleed. This is all recorded. 200 years from now people will be able to see this. Theyāll read the tweets (or whatever theyāre calling them nowadays).
Theyāll have a blast.

A president is not allowed to give a military salute unless he is an active military member or veteran.
Brainless.
3
u/somedayfamous 1d ago
Not true. The last two presidents were not veterans and saluted. Itās an option as president. That being said, saluting a dictator is interesting. Also, I donāt support this administration. Itās too corrupt for my style.

John Kelly reminded Trump that Hitler's generals attempted to assassinate him multiple times.
Also Trump. Trump insisted they were completely loyal. Kelly also stated that Trump remarked on multiple occasions that Hitler "did some good things," such as rebuilding the German economy.

"Communist General" is an oxymoron. Communism is always peacful. If some war monger Claims to be communist, he just isn't. Calling yourself something doesn't automatically mean that you actually are that.
Do you believe North Korea is democratic because of calls itself "democratic peoples repobilc korea"? Do you believe Nazis are socialists? Do you believe hot dogs are made out of dog meat?

Well, since everyone who hates him ascribes ulterior motives to everything he does, it's obviously to foster good relations, establish trade, and lay the groundwork for a resort he wants to build outside of their capital. Why else would he do it? He didn't even ask for the Pueblo back.

I really hate this picture. For the fact if you see the whole clip. Shows that the North Korea General saluted first. And the President just returned the salute.
Love it or hate but has happen alot. When two adversaries meet. The military members in charge would salute each other. It happened in WWII and Vietnam. The President is the Commander in Cheif he chose to salute back.
1
u/JamieJones111 23h ago
Judging by the full video, they clearly had this planned. Their general saluted first, then put his hand out to shake while Trump saluted back, and the picture was snapped. Trump fell into their trap and we're left with a picture of the American president saluting our enemies.

This is out of context. The NK soldier saluted Trump as Trump offered his hand. Then the soldier put out his hand as Trump returned the salute.
0
u/DSharp018 1d ago
North Korea isnāt communist though?
On paper, a democratic republic, but in practice, an authoritarian monarchy. (At least, Iām pretty sure you get called that when all the previous leaders of the past 60 years come from the same family with the next one also coming from the same family.)
0
u/DryCommunication5497 1d ago
This isnāt about liking Trump, but this is about acknowledging an honorable tradition. Veterans will say thank you for your service to soldiers of other even if they were enemies, I remember there was a thing where exNorth Korean soldier was being told. Thank you for your service. By veterans, despite knowing he was a North Korean soldier it is about honoring those who serve thereās a decent chance what Trump is doing is simply following this tradition. You donāt have to like Trump to acknowledge this honorable tradition
Also, to anyone who thinks Iām a liar I know many people who were in the Navy. I learned this tradition from them.
3
2
u/fortmacguy 1d ago
Maybe, but I'm not sure Cadet Bone Spurs can illicit respect from any veteran anywhere on the planet, regardless of whose side they are on, and his attempt at a salute rings pretty empty.
2
u/troveofcatastrophe 23h ago
Okayyy but the North Korean didnāt know about this āhonorable traditionā? Be real, Trump knows nothing about the traditions of the military. He believes they are āsuckers & losersā and doesnāt like the ones āwho got caughtā.
Bonus points for being āsmarter than all the generalsā.1
u/LovingMaine 16h ago
GTFO, no veteran is ever going to salute a communist general and say "thank you for your service". Seriously, some of you people will do anything and everything to lick the boots of Trump.
1
u/DryCommunication5497 16h ago
First, Iām gonna have to ask you to calm down because clearly your anger has clouded your judgment. Read my next words carefully.
Point to the words in my original comment or I praised celebrated or said anything positive about Trump
And to make things extremely clear what I did in the original comment was pointed to a tradition where veterans will say thank you for your service to other veterans even if they were of enemy countries and saying itās possible that following this tradition is why Trump did this Letās be double clear if this is the reason Trump did this. This is just lip service to a honorable tradition at best. I am owner no illusion that Trump is a honorable man. Itās just that politicians make lip service to honor and

u/Petrak1s 16h ago
What a bunch of crap. Ahahaha.. š¤£
1
u/DryCommunication5497 16h ago
are you calling me a lier?
1
u/Petrak1s 15h ago
Yes. Firstly Donald has never been in the military, as civilian you would not salute military person. You would thank for their crevice by handshake. Secondly, this is North Korean general, country the US is trying to suppress for many years. They are not your allies. You donāt salute your enemies. You see the Korean is extending his arm, right, and not saluting the pooper.
1
u/DryCommunication5497 15h ago
Your response seems to be in two points
1 the idea Trump has never been in the military so he might not even know this tradition exists, which is a possibility which is why I said in the original comment thereās a chance he simply following this tradition even if you are right, I donāt see how this would make me a liar
2 thatās kind of the point this tradition of saying thank you for your service applies even to veterans of enemy countries I remember as a teenager when Navy family member taught me about this tradition in the military.I was confused but now I realize itās about being honorable so yes, this tradition does exist.
as youāve confirmed you were calling me a liar. I assume because you believe I made up this tradition is that the case?

"no democrat has ever saluted a communist general" is quite the broad claim.
It is entire possible that some democrat has actually saluted a russian general at some point in time, just without a picture being taken. Maybe during or right after WWII, just to name one possibility. The demographic "democrat" is quite broad and would at the very least include everyone who is a registered democrat. One of those could easily have been serving as an officer in Europe during WWII and have had a meeting with a general from the red army.
Now, if the claim was that "no democrat president has ever..." it might be more realistic. But its hard to believe or prove that not one democrat (out of many millions) has ever done it.

I guess people forgot about when Obama bowed to Chinese President Hu Jintao at the Nuclear Security Summit
9
u/Maxhousen 1d ago
Bowing is an appropriate greeting in that circumstance. Presenting a military salute is only appropriate if you have served in the military, and the draft dodger doesn't qualify.

Wow. Guess what, oh clown of stupid. NO US PRESIDENT - since George Washington Forward to Ronald Reagan of EITHER - Democrat or Republican EVER saluted ANY Military Person of ANY Country, including America - neither RETURNED any salute from any American Military officer or enlisted person. Let alone any foreign dignitary - friendly or enemy.
Oh great big, pile of duck poop - with your grandeous claim and head_up_de-butt. Ronald Reagan started saluting enlisted persons, as he got on, and off his helicopter. Breaking this long protocol of not saluting ANY military person.
And! EVERY US President, both Democrat and Republican - Every US President after, bar none, as COPIED Ronald Reagan after he started doing this in 1981. Geesh, you clown of half wit stupid. Go home.
