Many of us Pakistani cricket fans are puzzled and outright horrified by this current administration. The Pakistan cricket board isn't any stranger to incompetence or mismanagement. We had the Zaka Ashraf scandals in the 2023 CWC, spotfixing scandals, the death of a coach many years back, etc . But this administration really takes the cake. Mohsin Naqvi and Aqib Javed are a demolition team, out on their way to destroy Pakistani cricket every chance they can get. I don't know if these guys are doing it deliberately or if they are actually this braindead. Anyhow, they could have made these changes over the course of the next few months. However, Pakistanis love a good piece of drama. This current admin just had to pin us down even lower.

Pakistan cricket since 2024 is slowly being lowered into its grave. The performances that marked the beginning of this decade, such as our powerhouse team in 2021 and the fight we showed in 2022, is now unfathomable. At least at that time, we had Ramiz Raja heading the PCB, who, in imo was a pretty solid and stable chairman during his tenure. The 2024 T20 WC was probably the most painful display I've ever seen, and the selection committee that world cup was definitely on something. But since then things have gotten worse, particularly in red-ball cricket. We consistently rank last on the WTC table, and this current 2026 team is the worst test team in Pakistan's history by results.

At first, I used to think it's all our players' fault, as we Pakistanis love to have scapegoats. But after this recent stunt by Aqib Javed, it's clear where the poison lies. This clown of an in individual, along with smug faced bootlicker Mohsin Naqvi, are ripping Pakistani cricket apart. I really feel for the players, particularly the younger talents. In such a toxic environment, they will never have the safety net needed to grow and develop the way youngsters do in India or Australia. Pakistan cricket board was not known for its professionalism, but I think this time it's too much. Salman Agha dropped, and for what? Aamer Jamal is clearly still being punished for his support for Imran Khan. Rizwan, yes is out of form, but this isn't how you treat a senior player, one who was once a great asset. Seeing how their seniors are being treated, do you think a talented young player would want to represent this team? I just don't know what part of their ass this board is thinking from. I've had enough, frankly.

The so-called surgery Mohsin Naqvi promised seems to have been a surgery on us, the Pakistan cricket fans. A pure lobotomy. They have mentally destroyed players like Babar Azam, and will destroy new talents like Ali Raza, Saad Baig, Minhas brothers if left unchecked. That's where we should come in. We should hold protests outside PCB offices in Lahore and grow a movement against this current admin. Why should we put up with their incompetence. I'm tired of this nihilistic attitude of Pakistani people always putting up with the gross negligence of their government or seniors. I think it's time we brought back the 2020-22 era, and that is by removing these guys at the top of PCB. We can never win these guys in charge.

They expect us to believe that Rizwan of all players would be having disciplinary issues? its very clear that he got in a disagreement with someone within management at some point during his captaincy. the body language has been different, the not wanting to be there in the match, the dumping of him from both captaincy and the ODI team. this is what they resorted to...smh

didn't go as smoothly for subhan as i expected, sayyam and rizwanullah looked good

just feel like ali raza should have been given the opportunity to play this given how well he and subhan bowl in partnerships, only guy clocking it up was rizwanullah, subhan was in and around 132-133 which is about what i expected it would be when i saw him bowling in u19 wc, seyyam was around 134-135 which is slower than i thought he would be

besides this the spinners all did decently well, pitch doesnt have any demons in it

Azan Awais, Shamyl Hussain, Saad Baig, Shahzaib Khan, Arafat Minhas, Ubaid Shah and Ali Raza, Mohmmad Zeeshan several of them are already making their mark in senior cricket/PSL/Domestic level.

They fell just one wicket short of reaching the U19 World Cup final, but their real legacy could be what comes next.

Pakistan Cricket one minute down, next minute even more down is how the saying goes nowadays. In the aftermath of the Lords test it has been mayhem even for our standards. Players getting sent home mid tour for failing, “faking injury” and for some doing nothing at all wrong. Randoms getting flown in to pay the last test and my favourite duo of Naqvi and Aqib blaming everyone but themselves.

That was the nail in the coffin for me and i’ve had enough of their nonsense. Ik I can’t make changes but one thing for certain is that Ik better than the crooks up top. So read along and let me land. In the past and of late i’ve fell into the trap of blaming the other players or laying into them like the PCB want. In a proper board they would respect the players but not in ours. They let Journalists run havoc and let everyone have a hit on the players when they are down. For example I be blaming Shaheen and Naseem for not playing test series and playing leagues, modelling or doing anything but cricket. I then take a second and think what do they get out of playing for the team right now. Losses and even more headaches. It ain’t worth it and you might aswell play leagues, spend time with family and do anything else. The PCB have shown that they don’t care so why should the players. Then there are people like Ihsanullah. Weird character but ruined by the PCB as they did the wrong surgery on him. In a proper country that doesn’t happen and if it does they are sued but in this country we just make him disappear and hide it. We have had a load of people who have had wrong surgeries or bad rehab. We think cutting costs and taking shortcuts in everything will work and it don’t.

Some of you might say it’s the highest honour to play for your country, which it is but damm do the board make it such a negative thing. You can be selected for your first tour after grinding domestic and then being sent home having done nothing wrong. I wanted Imam gone but this pile on from local and foreign media mustn’t be nice. If everything is true then he should never play again but why wasn’t something done earlier. All these reports of last years New Zealand tour but why was he selected after. Some people might say Babar is the reason but then i’d answer he came back before Babar captaincy and secondly Aqib picks everything and no one including him can act like it’s otherwise. Aqib been having the worst selections since he got the job, One opener in CT, Dropping KG due to fielding, saying other selectors picked slow bowlers, sending them home then replacing them with even slower bowlers who don’t play first class. That’s the funniest thing to me, He excused himself from blame, sent home Khurram then picked Imran Jnr. Like bro Khurram clears and they bowl same speed whilst one don’t even play the format. Oh then him being surprised that Rizzy and Imam were selected and questioning the selectors like he didn’t send them to Windies and select the same squad for the England tour. Like bro why are you so surprised. With Rizzy he hasn’t been great and he seems totally different but these lot are acting like he was averaging 20 for the last 5 years. If anyone trusts a word Aqib says anymore then I dont even know how to help you. The best thing about this tour is that Aqib and Naqvi have made a mockery of themselves. Aqib legit said if we win one then he is happy and now he going on a mad one with one test left and our target is already hit.

Naqvi saying he has made the cricket better and using the rankings to show that shows his great understanding of this once beautiful sport. Bro has about 4 jobs and can’t even do one to a good standard. Idc about your political beliefs, Men like him shouldn’t be near cricket or power. His term ends at the start of 2027 but we all know he is staying unless bro gets promoted elsewhere.

Then we have ex cricketers who like to steal a living whilst being no help. I envy India when it comes to ex cricketers players. Their players for the most part stay out of it and the ones that help like Yuvraj, Make talent better or Dravid learn how to coach. Start with the U19 and A teams before progressing to the main team. We have guys who mentor and do nothing of note, Complain or just like power so get the job and be egotistic controlling weirdos who need to be checked out. Or we have Moyo who thinks the players have been perfectly treated and the blame doesn’t lie with the board. Bro if you fancy Naqvi just ask him out. I’d like to ask him if Awais Zafar or Ali Usman got the time and support they needed. He probs ask me who and my point would be proven.

Little bit on the bad journalists. It ain’t everyone but it is most. They are bought out like the most of our country and they make you feel grateful that your life isn’t that bad that you just be toxic everyday. One day i see a report that Babar has a fever 9-10 days before a test. Firstly it would clear by the match and secondly why does it matter. All they want is for fans to get overboard and be like that’s an excuse for him to use if they fail. Instead of writing pieces on Naqvi and Aqib they are set out to blame every single one of those players.

Before someone says but the players are on the pitch playing, Let me ask you if your teammates had been sent home, you had been told if you lose a test match then your career is over, how are you meant to perform. If you were Awais Zafar how would you feel. Even if you’re still there like Azan you would be terrified and scared to fail which is a horrible way to play. It ain’t fair on the players and this is no way to platform them to perform. If anyone is still defending Naqvi and Aqib then you might need to be checked out.

One more thing seen people say this is the aftermath of department cricket going. Firstly that is the biggest waste of time, space and money. Ex cricketers only speak good about it because they still get paid by those departments. People who are chasing nostalgia think those tournaments bought stars but it didn’t. No other country does it and it ain’t on the departments to fund the cricketers. They should play their cricket for their region, Get paid properly and do whatever else they want to make more money. Those departments were only good before because there was no leagues and cricket players could earn more money and play more games. Now we need a proper regional domestic with better pitches and balls.

Sorry for the rant. It is long but it could’ve and should’ve been longer. The country we love is in free fall and everything is following. Cricket will turn into Hockey and Swuad and all we will have is hospitality and Esports. Hospitality will go if the same people remain in charge.

"When the coach and captain are not able to take decisions, someone has to take action".

He is upset that coach and captain didnt ensure the required combination during the England tour. He is saying team management, captain and coach must build a team around overall plan and must ensure conditions and team strategy and this responsibility isnt solely for selectors. Moreover, changes made to squad should send a clear message to our players. Pakistan inability to compete effectively has become a source of criticism internationally.

Imam’s recent fake injury pull if found convicted makes me think of past times now, is Imam the first to pull a sickie? If we rewind back…..

We’ve seen this before, has this been something going on in our system for a long time? Taking action against Imam is just a black eye but the real culprits we need to talk to or need to answer are the head coach and medical staff. Imam is not the only one that should be taking responsibility.

This situation should not be a case of ok imam we are giving you 1-2 years ban, no this needs to be a detailed serious investigation and all parties questioned.
