Question What are the DV shelters in OC like? Laura’s house/human options kind of places
Hi I have 3 young kids and may need to utilize one of these places. I’m terrified of bringing my kids to a shelter, they’ve barely met people and to think that they’d be uprooted from the comfort of their homes, wondering where they are and where dad is, and now in a new strange place with tons of strange people.
I’m worried it will be a lot for them. I’m worried about these next steps in general. anyone who has ever worked, volunteered, or stayed at one of these places able to kind of let me know what to expect/what it’s like?

Medical/Healthcare Need help/reserves for an injured stray cat with an eye injury in Garden Grove, CA
Hey everyone,
A community stray cat in Garden Grove recently got a noticeable eye injury that needs medical attention, and I'm trying to figure out the best local resources or rescues to help him.
He is friendly enough to trap/contain, but I want to make sure he goes to a safe group or local rescue that can handle veterinary care.
- Does anyone have recommendations for local OC/Garden Grove rescues, low-cost clinics, or TNR groups currently taking in medical cases?
- Are there specific local subreddits or community networks where posting usually gets quick responses or foster leads?
Any contacts, advice, or shares would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Event Levain Bakery Fashion Island Grand Opening Friday, 9/4/26
Shouldn't be anybody there...LOL. I'll give it a while to calm down before even trying. It'll probably be packed for months.
I thought I saw something that they open at 8AM. Not sure.
Love their cookies. Just my opinion...

Recommendations Needed Commute to LA downtown
What would be the best time period of the week day to commute from OC to LA downtown?
I need to drive there frequently but flexible on times as long as it’s not super late of the day (let’s say pass 6:30 pm), anyone have the time frame recommendations and what’s the best highway route to take? I made the drive today and abs hated it tbh but my route or time might be not the best combo. I want to hear your opinions?

Recommendations Needed RIB Whale Watching Tour Recommendations & Tips?
Hi! I’m going to OC for work on Tuesday-Friday but staying a couple days for myself too. I’ve done the big charter boat whale watching tour in Long Beach with the aquarium of the pacific but now I’d love to do a Rigid Inflatable Boat whale watching tour. Does anyone have good company recommendations and areas to go to? I was maybe thinking Newport.

Question Why do LA people shit on OC every chance they get then conveniently claim Disneyland?
Not so much a question as it is a rant. Have never understood this. They will talk shit on everything related to Anaheim/OC like the Angels, the Ducks, the “ghetto” parts, the little brother energy, but then they’ll turn around and claim to be “Disneyland locals”. It really pisses me off to another level.
Also, nothing wrong with wearing Dodgers to Disneyland since it’s a tourist spot, but I might lose my shit next time I see someone wear that stupid ass “DisneyLAnd” merch with the Dodgers logo. Rant over.

Food Where is everyone buying their beef?
I’d prefer my beef to meet regulatory standards and be from the US. Mystery meat is not my cup of tea. I usually shop at Stater Brothers but I can shop elsewhere. Any recommendations for brands or stores that carry normal beef? Thanks!
Edit: okay guys consensus is in, large grocery chain likes Ralph’s Albertsons Vons Trader Joe’s Costco Stater Brothers etc all use US raised beef. If you’re buying prepackaged items that have meat product in them however, those could include foreign beef.
FWIW the US has always imported beef for those above mentioned types of foods (including fast food beef) but recently the foreign countries have broadened to include Argentina Colombia Paraguay and Panama as well.
All I’m saying is I’d rather support American ranchers AND I don’t trust our current administration to regulate appropriately the foreign meat they are shipping in from overseas. Too many other slashes to regulations have led to issues already (I’m looking at you Taylor Farms)

Question Issues with Mint Mobile data speeds?
Is anybody else on the North OC area having issues with cell data and/or home internet speeds on Mint Mobile? I was trying to troubleshoot this issue with customer service but they say it’s a local cell tower issue. It’s been a couple days already!! Thought it would be fixed by now. Will probably ask for a refund since it’s within the 14 day guarantee period. Some feedback would also be appreciated

Question When does Pacific Marine Mammal Center at Laguna Beach reopen?
I had been to Pacific Marine Mammal Center several times in the past before they were doing the construction. I have passed by a few times this year, and seems like the construction has been completed. However, the website still says it is closed. Does anyone know when they might reopen again? I would like to drop by with my family to support.
Thank you!

Nature Sunset picture tonight for my puppy (request)
This may be an odd request, but today we had to say goodbye to our 13 year old black lab. I am hoping she gives us a good beautiful sunset tonight. If anyone happens to capture a lovely picture tonight, I’d love to see it. I would like to be able to frame a picture of her sunset for my boyfriend. Here she’s eating her last bit of a homemade burger before saying goodbye. ❤️🌈

Event House of Blues: Anaheim - Accessing different rooms same night.
Two of my favorite bands are playing tomorrow night (09/04) at HOB Anaheim, one in the Music Hall, one in the Parish room. Haven’t been in over 15 years and could use some advice:
- Do I have to buy two separate tickets, or is there an all-access pass?
- If I have to buy tickets for both, can I easily bounce between rooms, or do they make you exit and re-enter?
- Does the Foundation Room upgrade grant access to both rooms?
Thanks in advance!
