Hi, I am a senior in nuclear engineering and I am looking to apply for NLO positions for training beginning June, July, and August. I was wondering when I should start looking/applying.

I also have a weak background when it comes to hand on work which I know is an important factor for the job. How much would this impact my hiring process and what can I do as an individual to make myself stronger in this area?

I was also wondering what I can do as an applicant to make my resume stand out more as I have previous work experiences that are more desk related than physical.

I also have had some Marijuana intake over the summer and I was wondering how much would that impact me. It’s the only time I have ever done it and I rarely drink alcohol.

If your looking to hire during that time period I wouldn’t mind reaching out and talking and even sharing my resume for the application.

I’m currently 21 and fit that’s willing to put my best foot forward. Any advice would be much appreciated

Holtec loaded fuel into Palisades' reactor vessel August 31, Mode 6 under NRC tech specs, 204 assemblies mixing new and partially used fuel. this is the plant's first fuel load since the 2022 shutdown and the step before startup testing. CNO Fadi Diya called it an important milestone. no restart date confirmed yet, Holtec's only committed to beating a March 2027 power-supply deadline. anyone have a read on the startup testing timeline once fuel load wraps?

Hello all, just wanted to come on here and ask a quick question for recommendations. Looking to intern with nuclear or closest to nuclear operations.

Currently in TN going through a TVA sponsored associates degree in nuclear engineering technology (fancy way of saying operations) and want to make sure I am applying to every place available to me.

What I have currently is
TVA (nuclear, fossil)
Duke (North Carolina, nuclear/hydro)
Southern Nuclear/Georgia power (Georgia, nuclear)
Alabama power (nuclear, hydro)

I’m not finding any utilities that offer to relocate internships, but I’m not against traveling away from home for the experience. If you know any utilities or have any recommendations to look into please let me know through replies or DMs! Thanks everyone.
