journalist looking for nepali student in pune
hi, im 20f and an independent journalist who has previously worked with the Wire (happy to provide proof for credibility.)
I'm working on a a feature story currently covering the struggles of a nepali student/working professional who is stuck in the city and not able to go back home. if your family has been afflicted by the floods and you belong to a socio-economic disadvantaged strata, i would love to hear your story and get it out there.
if it makes you comfortable, complete confidentiality and anonymity will be promised. like i said, I'm an independent journalist not affiliated with any political organisation. I'm open and hoping for your uncensored story, the on ground realities of what's happening in Nepal and hopefully we can get national coverage on it.
if this brief fits you or someone you know, please reach out to me on dms and I'll apprise you of the next steps (nothing too difficult or elaborate i promise)

Looking for a phone for my mom under NPR 30–35k in Nepal.
Needs: good camera, 1–2 day battery, smooth software, decent build, 6GB+ RAM, mainly YouTube/TikTok/Facebook/Messenger.
Was considering the Redmi 17 4G, but 4/128 is ~28k and 6/128 is ~34k, both with an LCD, which feels overpriced.
What would you guys recommend?

Language/भाषा German-Newari Language Exchange
Hi, If anyone is a native speaker of Newari and is learning German, let me know if you are up for a language exchange.
I am also from a Newari household but never got to learn the language as I mostly lived away from home and my parents didn't bother talking to me in Newari. I have been living in Germany for a while and am around B2/C1 level. Although, I can't speak Newari properly, I understand more than I can speak.
I am also open if you just want to communicate in Newari even if you aren't learning German. It doesn't matter if you are a girl or a boy and if that matters to you, I am a guy by the way.

Question/प्रश्न Short trekking outside Ktm
Hi, everyone.
I am planning to go for a short trek to Ama Yangri next week. Is it safe for a solo female trek? How safe is it during monsoon? If there are other interested females, we can go together.

Help/सहयोग How long did it take you to learn how to swim?
I’ve been going for 5 days now, but honestly, I still haven’t been able to swim properly and I’m starting to feel really anxious about it. 😅 I took a 10-day package, so I still have a few days left.
My main issue is that I seem to forget the coordination especially when trying to combine floating, leg kicks, and hand movements. I also get tired quickly while floating and practicing the movements.
For those who learned swimming as adults, how long did it take before things finally *clicked* for you? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Question/प्रश्न I’m 21F and 5'1" — Is it still possible to grow to 5'3"?
I’m 21F and currently around 5'1" (155 cm). I really want to reach around 5'3" (160 cm).
Is it still possible to naturally grow 2 inches at my age? Has anyone here experienced height growth after 20, or found anything that actually helped?
I’d also like to know if there’s any way to check whether my growth plates are still open.
Looking for genuine experiences/advice rather than height-growth supplements or scams.

Looking for fellow trekkers for API Base Camp | Sept
Hello everyone!
I’m planning to trek to API Base Camp[22 Sept onwards from Darchula] and would love to team up with fellow travellers who are planning to go around the same date.
Solo is great, but having good company in the Himalayas makes the adventure even better!

Question/प्रश्न How can I make Pinterest wallpapers look sharp on 1920×1080?
I often find really nice wallpapers on Pinterest, but the images are usually low-res or compressed. When I set them as my 1920×1080 desktop wallpaper, they look blurry and soft, even though they look pretty crisp when I open the image normally.
Is there any good way to fix this? Maybe an AI upscaler or another method to make these images look sharp at 1920×1080?
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Should the United States be held responsible for the disaster in Nepal?
The Nepalese government asserts that major industrial polluters—including the United States—bear a moral responsibility and an obligation to provide compensation for this disaster. Officials argue that developed nations are the primary sources of global greenhouse gas emissions, which drive warming in the Himalayas and the melting of glaciers. Nepal is seeking billions of dollars in compensation for reconstruction efforts, rather than relying on standard charitable aid.
In 2022, the U.S. and Nepal signed the MCC agreement to construct highways, railways, and power lines across the country. The advancement of these infrastructure projects is destroying habitats and migratory routes for threatened species; furthermore, building roads and power pylons on fragile slopes can exacerbate erosion and destabilize watersheds, thereby increasing the risk of downstream flooding and soil loss. The recent floods in Nepal have highlighted these very issues. Consequently, the demand by Nepalese officials for U.S. compensation is entirely justified.

Question/प्रश्न Is it safe for tourists to visit Kathmandu right now?
Hi,
first of all I'd like to express my deepest condolences to everyone who lost someone in the tragedy that has occurred recently.
My parents planned a trip to Kathmandu many months ago, we are supposed to stay there later in September. I'm sceptical about this, I'm scared the flood could happen again and this time directly affect the capital. I don't even know if that's possible, but the footage ive seen online scared me to the core. My question directed to people living there right now - would you advise us to cancel the trip or not? Is it safe?
I wish you guys all the best.

Looking for a youtube video that I remember from long ago.
This is totally random. There was a video 4-5 years back in youtube, or was it 10 years, where a foreigner (Male, around 25-35 years old, White I think) is invited by a Nepali to his village during Dashain time. I think the Nepali had befriended the foreigner when he had gone abroad, or he was the foreigner's trekking guide i don't remember. Anyway the foreigner arrives at his old nepali house in the hills. The house was two-storied with a long balcony on the upper floor that stretched the length of the house. I remember that the other hills were very near the hill the house was on; a compact scenery. They sacrifice a goat for Dashain and the foreigner shows the process while blurring the actual act.
Anyway, there is this heavy rain with strong winds. They sit on the balcony and watch the rain dancing and swaying in the wind. It was breathtaking and felt primeval! I have been wanting to watch the video again. If anyone knows what video I am talking about, please help me locate it.

Help/सहयोग How can I join and participate in clubs like Leo or Rotaract in Kathmandu?
I’m interested in joining clubs like Leo, Rotaract, or other youth/community organizations in Kathmandu to meet new people, learn new skills, and get involved in activities.
How does joining usually work? Do I need to know someone or can I directly contact the club? Also, how can I find active clubs that are currently accepting new members?

About his mother, you can directly ask him if his mother had been terminated from the clerk position due to a fake certificate, this I didn't find in the news as it was a long ago but you can ask anyone in the adminstrative department.
Personally, he has used and thrown many influencers like bebo , czzyling etc to get to his following that he has amassed.
His elder sister hasn't cleared her medical license exam yet almost 8 years or so...
You can ask the dental college about his wrong tooth extraction situation.
You can ask his junior , colleagues how he was.
Those who had paid him for the PCR nasal swab test in dharan can verify ma claims. He used his connections to get the kit from the nagarpalika karmachari.
Aile aba social media ma ayera Samaj sewa gariracha which is good Tara Tesle k punya kamincha?
Anti corruption should start from his family
