Has anyone dealt with unexpected move-out charges ? $2,000+ charge after moving out

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has lived outside universaytiy or dealt with a similar situation in Flagstaff.

I lived in a 4 bed / 4 bath unit. My other roommates moved out before me, and I was the last person to move out of the apartment.

After I moved out, the apartment charged me over $2,000 for damages, including damages/cleaning related to the common areas.

My concern is that because I was the last person to move out, it seems like I’m being held responsible for damage to shared areas that were used by all four roommates. I don’t believe I should automatically be responsible for everything in the common areas just because I happened to move out last.

Has anyone here had a similar experience with me?

If so, were you able to dispute the charges or get them reduced? Did you contact the leasing office, corporate management, or get any legal/tenant assistance?

I’m especially interested in knowing what documentation I should request from them (inspection reports, photos, invoices, move-out records, etc.) before paying or disputing the charges.

Any advice from current or former NAU students would be really appreciated.

Yes, I posted it again because a classmate suggested it’s best not to include the name of the apartment .

Grad School Question

Hey y'all - I was just curious if anyone knows if NAU has access to finding out where I work? I am able to get an internship with the company I work for but I haven't been employed for the correct length of time to the standards that NAU has. My work would love to offer me an internship and everything is going well here that I have no intention of leaving and I am highly regarded at my place of work. I am struggling to find an internship elsewhere or I would just choose a different place. If anyone has any knowledge on this please let me know!

chapped lips…..

this might sound like an odd question, but what have been some remedies for you guys that have cured your chapped lips. ever since moving up here, my lips have been increasingly more chapped and it’s becoming very painful. i’ve applied aquaphor and chapstick everyday, but it seems like nothing is helping. is this something that can be adjusted to or can it go away on its own?

i’d appreciate any advice thank you!!

Axe/ese charges still showing up after opting out

I ended up opting out of the program due to not needing that many books but I still have access to all course materials through the program and have a charge on Louie. However on the Axe/ese log in page it shows I’ve opted out and I got an email confirmation saying I’ve opted out. Does anyone know why that is?

Would anyone be interested in a club like this?

Note: The soonest I would start this club would be Spring of 2027, as this semester is a bit hectic for me

So, I’m a cybersecurity student with interests in activism, sustainability, and disaster preparedness—both in the individual (like “what if someone starts stalking me”) as well as the communal (like “what if I get displaced by a wildfire”). In case you couldn’t tell by those three interests, I watched The Walking Dead as a kid and my family fled Louisiana shortly after Katrina, so I have always believed that the only way a community survives when SHTF is by pulling together and supporting each other.

I’ve also recently learned of the C-CERT program, which is a program offered by FEMA for college clubs where club members can train to do low-level (read NOT DANGEROUS) volunteer work during disasters alongside first responders.

Thus, I’m considering starting a club next semester (working name Safehouse Training and Fellowship, also known as SHTF or Safehouse) that focuses on perhaps the most underrated-yet-absolutely-vital part of activism; intentionally growing your community.

The basic idea of this club would be in four parts

1.) We meet every week to learn and share practical skills (like self-defense, how to mend, basic repairs, situational awareness, etc). Sometimes bringing in people from around town, sometimes bringing in collaborators from other clubs, but also members can volunteer to teach the basics of a skill they know that they think could benefit everyone

2.) We have an ongoing Discord group chat where people can offer and receive support on things they’re struggling with (like meal sharing, transportation, or just plain old stress), both in the practical help and in words of comfort and kindness

3.) If there are major widespread issues around campus that we feel need to change (like de-flocking, cult awareness, or making the campus a sanctuary for immigrants), we can peacefully (so we don’t get banned) rally with other clubs to bring about positive change for our campus community

4.) Every semester, we’ll offer training for C-CERT so that people can learn to safely volunteer during disasters. This will be open to both club members and non-members, but note that non-members will likely have to pay a small fee just to cover costs

I’ll be honest; I was event coordinator for years in my high school, but I’ve never been club president before. Thus I’m also not sure if this club idea is something people would be interested in joining. However, I wanted to put feelers out there just to see, in case there’s any way we can actively strengthen our community.

However, there is so much that troubles us nowadays, and many of us feel isolated by it. By intentionally joining together as a community, we go from the single voices of a half-dozen strangers to the palpable sound of an army.

So…would anyone be interested in joining this club?

Looking for a Roomate/ room to rent

I’m looking for a room or roommate situation for my 21-year-old brother. He’s clean, respectful, friendly, and easy to get along with. He’s responsible and would be a great person to have around the house.
Our dad is currently passing away, and I’m trying to find a place for my brother so that we can stay close and support each other during this difficult time.
If anyone has a room available, is looking for a roommate, or knows of anything that might be a good fit, please feel free to message me. We’re open to discussing rent, location, and details privately.
Thank you so much ❤️

21st Birthday in Flag

Hello!

A couple of questions: does anyone know of any local spots that do birthday freebies? I've gone to Karma for each birthday since my 18th and always get their dessert, but I'm looking for other local spots.

Additionally, my birthday falls on a Saturday this year. I want to go out with my friends but am unsure if I'll be refused since my ID orientation won't be switched yet. I think legally I can be served for the rest of the month, but if it's a busy Saturday night, am I likely to be refused?

Thank you in advance!!!

Edit:

If you're signed up for toast local. Bigfoot does $5 off and Awa Kava does $10 off
