Hi everyone. I have these songs saved on my references as I would kill to do something similar, I've been producing for like 4 years, but even tho I try to do unique and experimental things they never sound THIS unique and cool, they are never catchy and the sounds aren't so alluring as these. I will post two different vocaroo links here so you can check. In the first one my main question is how are these weird af vocals made. They do weird slides and sound plasticky. Never heard vocals like these and tried TTS software vocal chops, vocal synths, vocal chops + formant shifting. Nothing quite close to that vibe. Second link my main question is the overall sound, how is it so weird and at the same time everything on its right place. I feel I will never be that good. Years producing and trying every day and I cannot have these kind of unique sounds.

I want to achieve a similar vocal sound but I have no idea what effects or plugins to use beside an autotune sort of thing.

I'm basically a dumdum with not much prior vocal experience (definitely not technical) and I ended up getting a Rode Podmic microphone. I should be able to figure out the hardware parts (THANK YOU CHRIS L FROM SWEETWATER) but, overall, is this microphone any good for music production? It surely has to be better than an actively breaking $40 JLab Talk mic from like 6 years ago, right? ... will I have to wait till next paycheck to fix this issue? (I'm trying to record audio through a microphone and then through my laptop, if that helps)

Just finished a custom vocal job for a client and looked back at the Logic session thinking... that's a LOT of vocals 😆

This particular topline ended up with:

🎤 1 main vocal
🎤 6 ad-lib tracks
🎤 4 double tracks
🎤 7 harmony tracks
🎤 8 ooh/ahh tracks for a layered chant effect

Everything gets properly organised and delivered wet + dry, along with the lyrics and piano MIDI. For vocals I've produced instrumentals for, I can provide the full instrumental stems too.

I've put one of my finished vocals over the video so you can hear the sort of end result all those layers contribute towards. Sound on 🔊

I always find it interesting how something that sounds relatively effortless in the finished record can have a ridiculous number of individual recordings sitting underneath it.

Hey everyone, I’m the founder of NeuralSound.

We’ve been working on this for a while, mostly focusing on the separation quality and adding things musicians would actually use around it.

At this point you can upload an audio file or video and:

• separate it into 2, 4 or 6 stems
• isolate vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other sounds
• remove the vocal and make a karaoke/backing track
• follow synced lyrics while the song plays
• change the pitch/key and tempo
• mute or solo individual stems
• make karaoke videos with synced lyrics (support 95+ language)

The main thing we’ve spent most of our time on though is the separation  AI model itself.

There are already much bigger products in this space, so I didn’t want to just come here and say “ours sounds better.”

We took 5 tracks from the MUSDB18-HQ dataset and ran the same 2-stem test through NeuralSound, Moises and Fadr.

The average SI-SDR came out at:

NeuralSound: 15.80 dB
Moises: 14.47 dB
Fadr: 12.59 dB

We ran the benchmark ourselves, so obviously take that into account. It’s also only 5 tracks and I’m not claiming NeuralSound is going to win on every song.

That’s why we put the actual audio from every test on the page as well. You can listen to our result, Moises and Fadr side by side instead of trusting the numbers.

The funny/frustrating part for me as the founder is that I think we’ve built something genuinely competitive, but we’re still tiny compared with the companies we’re competing against.

I recently finished putting together a Dancehall-style remix of two of my absolute favorite tracks. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, but if I’m being honest, I feel like it’s missing that special something to make it sound like proper, authentic Dancehall.

I’m from the Canary Islands, so I live that island life and I absolutely love the vibes and energy of this genre. However, I know I still have a long way to go to really capture that essence and align my music with the true culture of the style. I feel like I haven't quite "caught the trick" yet.

I would love some advice for my future productions! If any experienced producers or Dancehall fans could drop some tips, I’d be incredibly grateful.

Specifically, I'd love to know:

• What are the crucial elements (drum patterns, specific percussion, basslines) that I should focus on?
• Are there any mixing tricks to get that authentic Caribbean bounce?
• Any highly recommended sample packs, tutorials, or reference tracks to study?
