I’m preparing for MBA entrance exams and given the previous year also and keep hearing that XAT is tougher than CAT. For those who have attempted both, what actually makes XAT more difficult? Is it the Decision Making section, question style, or time pressure?

I'm planning for an MBA from IIM ABC or ISB PGP . How good is mba for me , i want salary growth in my career and also no potential girl willing to marry me due to job location and slow career growth . I hardly saved 5-7 lakhs throughout my career in ISRO. HRA + TA not being paid , I'm getting a net salary of 87k per month at present after being here for 4.5 years . Edit No need for ABC or ISB. I need a good career at least 1.2 lakh per month inhand

I know my profile isn’t the conventional MBA aspirant profile, and I’m trying to figure out what realistically makes sense for me at this point.

I scored 7.8 CGPA in 10th. For 11th and 12th, I chose a vocational stream related to hotel management because I wanted to pursue hotel management and eventually go abroad. I scored around 91% in 12th.
Life didn’t quite go as planned, so I couldn’t go abroad. I eventually did a BBA and MBA from a tier-3 college, with around 7.6–7.8 CGPA.

I also started doing business when I was around 16. It actually worked quite well for several years, but the business took a downturn around the time I was 24.
I’m now 26, and currently working in a corporate WFH role in US healthcare. I got the job through a referral and will have around 2 years of work experience by the time I seriously apply for an MBA.

The problem is that I’m now realizing how much my educational background matters. My BBA/MBA are from a tier-3 college and I feel they don’t carry much weight in the job market.

So I’m thinking of giving CAT/SNAP/etc. and trying to get into a good B-school.

But I’m honestly quite confused about my chances.

~91% in 12th, but vocational/hotel-management stream

~7.6–7.8 CGPA in BBA/MBA
Non-engineer/non-science background
Tier-3 college
Around 2 years corporate work experience
Age 26
Business experience before corporate

My biggest fear is: even if I give CAT 100%, will my academics/profile prevent me from getting into a genuinely good B-school?

I’m also not sure how my 12th vocational background will be treated, or whether my work experience/business background can actually help compensate for the academics.

I know I made some questionable decisions earlier 😂 but I’m trying to fix things now rather than keep dwelling on them.

What would you guys realistically recommend?
Should I go all-in on CAT/SNAP and target the best colleges I can get?

Should I look at other exams/colleges where my profile has a better chance?

Or should I forget about another MBA altogether and focus on building my career from here?

Is there actually any hope left for this profile? 😂

Would really appreciate brutally honest advice from people who understand Indian MBA admissions.

So, I have been seeing alot of my friends actually doing MBA because they had nothing else to do, no CA or anything or did not get a good job, so they went for MBAs from IIM, MDI etc and are on good packages now, could say 25-30 LPA with no prior experience.

Do you think this gets stagnant because they are already being paid alot, how would the career trajectory look like? We always have this debate where I say it would get stagnant after a point while they differ.

I have observed especially in tier-1 B-schools it has now become a very common sight to see dozens of CAs in a batch which is not a bad thing.

However, CA is a professional qualification which is as rigourous as any B-school prep if not more so. Then why is there such aspiration or I say need for CAs to do MBA ?

Why can't they just pull off front end roles of finance and consulting alone on CA degree?

I will only target top IIMs, not even baby IIMs.
Is it worth it for a Dr to go into an MBA.
Is there enough job opportunities of people with a medical background.
What jobs can i get if I pursue it.

I am an MBA grad and currently working in Collections department of the 3rd largest private bank in India for the past 2 years. The VP of my department does not like me as I had raised complaints against him due to physical and mental abuse. This year I was eligible for promotion but did not get promoted because of obvious reasons. Right now, he is trying to affect my rating and put me on PIP, what can I do right now ?

Also this is not the role I am looking forward to be in the long run - I want to move into Business Analysis roles for which I am currently preparing. I do have the option of moving to Hyderabad but as it is a field role and I don’t know Telegu I might face communication problems

What should I do - Resign or Extend my time here as much as possible to avoid the current job market. I do have an education loan on me right now. Please help.
