Welcome to the 51st #W2DTogether drawing challenge!

Someone asks:

"Are you alright?"

And what do we usually say?

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"I'm good."

"Don't worry about me."

Sometimes, we really are fine.

But a lot of the time, those two little words can be hiding an entire world behind them.

We all have things happening in our lives like : stress, work, family, relationships, loneliness, pressure, exhaustion, fear,etc..

Things we are trying to fix, we are trying to forget, that we sometimes even don't know how to explain. And yet, we can still wake up, get dressed, answer messages, go to work or school, laugh with someone, buy groceries, drink coffee, and continue with the day as if everything inside us is perfectly ordinary.

So this week's challenge is:

Draw what "I'm fine" looks like to you.

Your drawing can represent not being fine while appearing fine on the outside, or it can represent what genuinely feeling fine, peaceful, or okay looks like to you.

You can interpret this very literally:

• Maybe you draw someone smiling while something completely different is happening inside their head.
• Maybe you draw two versions of the same person: the one everyone sees and the one nobody sees.
• Maybe someone is sitting normally at a dinner table while the room around them represents everything they are carrying.
• Maybe a person is dressed perfectly while their shadow tells a completely different story.
• Maybe their face looks calm, but their reflection does not.
• Maybe the words "I'm fine" appear somewhere in the drawing while the rest of the image quietly contradicts them.

Or you can make it completely symbolic in way like I don't know:

• A cup filled right to the edge.
• A wall covered in cracks but still standing.
• A balloon stretched almost to bursting.
• A room that looks perfect from the doorway but is chaos once you step inside.
• A smiling mask beside a tired face.
• A storm contained inside an ordinary-looking object.

Or perhaps your version of "I'm fine" really does mean fine. :)

There is no single emotion you have to draw.

You can make your piece sad, peaceful, uncomfortable, funny, strange, abstract, hopeful, or somewhere in between.

The point is to think about the difference between what people say, what people show, and what they may actually feel.

At the end, if you'd like, tell us what "I'm fine" means in your drawing and what is happening beneath the surface. Have fun with the interpretation. We can't wait to see what your drawings say when words don't. 🙂

• Must be YOUR drawing.
• Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital drawing tools).
• No paintings.
• No AI art.
• All skill levels welcome: beginners, intermediates, experts.
• You must share AT LEAST ONE drawing.
• To be part of the competition, your drawing MUST be posted in the comments of this thread. (If you'd like, you can also make a separate post in the subreddit using the #W2DTogether flair, but the official entry needs to be here in the comments if you want it reviewed.)

How We Pick the Winner

After one week, we'll hold a community vote to decide which drawing best captures the theme. The winner will be showcased in the sub with their artwork.

If the winner shares an art link (Instagram, portfolio, website, etc.), we'll also include it so they can get recognition and maybe even new followers.

Time Frame

This challenge is timeless. You can participate anytime, even years later.

Review Date:
For community feedback, we'll gather and review all submissions on Sunday, 6 September 2026, so make sure to post your entry before 4:00 PM UTC that day. Drawings posted before that date will be part of the review session.
