News Krita 5.3.3 and 6.0.3 Released — 5.3.3 remains the recommended version for production work

The Krita team released 5.3.3 and 6.0.3 on July 29, 2026. Both ship the same bug fixes. 6.0.3 is the Qt6 build and still considered more experimental. The team recommends 5.3.3 for production work.
Some highlights from the changelog:
- Fixed a deadlock during perspective transform
- Fixed layers getting deselected when starting a transform
- Fixed FFmpeg 7.0+ support for rendering HDR animations
- Fixed several crashes (deleting text shapes, combined shapes, null event pointer)
- Better font family sorting and deduplication
- Selection Action Panel can now be pinned to canvas edges
- Android: animation import/export temporarily removed, supporter benefits added

Day Three of sketching daily for 100 days. I hope you enjoy him, about as much I enjoyed making him. This is nugget, he's a bit cocky.
He was sketched in Krita on a deco 01 v3 tablet, and moved over to ibis paint on a galaxy tab s7 fe for the line work and then back to Krita for the colors. This one took longer than the others, almost all day to do, as I ended up doing cleaner thick bold lines rather than the sketched lines as before.
This is yesterday's piece, as I have fallen behind on posting, and haven't finished Day Fours yet.
His hand is blurred because you can't have middle fingers posted here, so I blurred it to be able to post it.
