Homemade Homemade Salmon Belly Nigiri prepared 4 Ways
from left to right: spicy ponzu, fried garlic sprinkle, green onions; soy sauce and fresh ginger; spicy mayo and avocado; seared with spicy ponzu and green onions. My first time experimenting with kobujime went very well. This turned out so tasty! Thanks for looking 🍣

Photo Yoshinoya Beef Bowl
Got a large Yoshinoya beef bowl with extra meat for dinner. When I was younger, I honestly didn't think much of Yoshinoya, but now that I'm getting older? This was the best one I've ever had in my life. Apparently they're all over the world—did you know the taste is totally different depending on the country?

Homemade Natto with warm runny eggs and sourdough bread
I'm not sure if this qualifies as Japanese food, but this follows the concept of raw eggs on a bowl of hot rice with natto on top. The savory natto balances out the runny eggs, and the eggs reduce the strength of the stringy mucus which makes natto messy to eat.

Photo At Shimon-ya in Otsuka. Just Shochu mixed with plum syrup—their classic 'Ume-Wari'—along with beef tripe (Senmai), pig's trotters, and various skewers of grilled offal (Motsu-yaki). Cleansing the palate with pickled daikon radish!

Question How do you eat your kirimochi?
I recently bought some kirimochi and had it with some anko.
It was a nice crispy crust giving way to chewy mochi; I'm craving more!
So I'm wondering, other than the typical toppings (soy sauce/sugar/nori, kinako/sugar, daikon/soy sauce) or usual applications (zenzai, other soups, skewers), are there other toppings or things I can add it to?
