Progressive help please
Basically opened the account for 112 paid next month 179$. Then rate went to 526$ canceled then get hit with a 250 cancelation fee cuz i didnt give them documents, prior insurance which is AAA and water bill, inwhich ima not give that... canceled at the end of the month.
What can i do? Any lawyers out there?
Already emailed texas department of insurance... but you know how slow they are... sent a email saying i dispute the charge to there fraud email. "Im reporting Fraud against progressive..." texas state laws says i need to be notified 30 days before a 10$ increase and or 10% 8/8 deadline for documents, 9/3 due date... paid 2nd month 7|31 opened 7|3
Also i cancelled 5 days prior and they refuse to give me my 28.57 back (pro-rata)

You paid a preliminary payment based on information you provided to the system. After they ran their own reports they found a discrepancy in the information so they asked you for proof of insurance and garaging address. From your post you indicated you aren't going to give them that. You are the unreasonable one here if you believe not providing the necessary documents would result in no changes being made to your policy. This is called an uprate and very normal in insurance.
You dont understand insurance and the next time you do get it, work with an independent agent they can help you avoid these problems and stay insured.
