Fleet Book Flight for January, 27 or wait ?

Post image
Upvotes

I’ll be travelling from Ahmedabad to Cochin and back, and I need to book my return flight. I’m not sure whether I should book now or wait a little longer. The current price seems to be almost the lowest compared to other dates.

This is my first time travelling by flight, so can anyone confirm whether I should book now or wait?

Cochin → Ahmedabad: 8th Jan 2027
IndiGo: 8:05 PM – 10:35 PM
Price: ₹8,187

I don’t know what the usual/regular fares are like for this route. I can also use my Amazon credit card and get around ₹1,000 cashback, which would bring the effective cost down further.

Would you recommend booking it now or waiting for a better price?

Discussion Does Indigo Not Have A Gap Between Flights?

I always assumed there is atleast a 15 minutes gap between the unloading of a flight till the next set of passengers get in.

But I am currently waiting to board standing inside the bus they take from the gate to the flight and I can see the passengers getting down from the flight while the bus is waiting for them to get down.

Is this normal? How do they clean the flight and stuff in such cases?

Questions Booked Wheelchair Assistance for my Mom

This is the first time I have booked wheelchair assistance from AMD Airport for Indigo up to the cabin.

Can someone here who has already experienced this help me understand how this whole system works?

Will the wheelchair be available as soon as I enter the airport from gate? Or will I have to request to this while getting a boarding pass? Or how does this system works. Whom will I ask for this?

Thanks in advance for the help. :)

Routes How Indigo loosens your wallet?

I am based in Delhi and was searching for a Delhi-Kuala Lumpur booking. For any combination of dates, for the onwards flight the airline gives only limited options with a 1 hop flight where one has to travel from Delhi to Bangalore a day earlier and wait for 22hr layover (for the cheapest option) and then fly onwards from Bangalore to Kuala Lumpur (only one flight from 2:00PM IST) on the next day. It simply does not gives options to fly from from Delhi to Bangalore on the same day if booked end to end. The combined fare is almost Rs 22k one side. So in order to look for other better alternatives I decided to search for standalone routes. A typical Delhi Bangalore flight costs 9-10K one side and Bangalore to Kuala Lumpur is around 19K (both cheapest options).

Summary: if you book the entire leg as a single go you have to mandatorily spend 22 hrs in Bangalore for the cheapest options which costs around 22K on the whole. Otherwise If you want to reach quickly and fly to Bangalore separately on the same day then it will cost you 30K one side.

Travel Experience IndiGo staff intentionally delayed me at the counter and tried to charge ₹3k to reschedule.

Did my web check-in fine, but didn't get a boarding pass. At the airport counter, the staff gave me the classic runaround—sending me back and forth until I was "late." Then they had the audacity to blame me and offered to rebook my flight for a ₹3,000 fee. Absolute scam behavior. Has anyone else faced this?

Questions Transit through China query

Hi,

I'm planning to book an itinerary and looking for some advice or real-world experiences regarding a transit situation through Shanghai.

My Profile & Route:

  • Passport: Indian (Canadian PR)
  • Luggage: Carry-on ONLY (no checked bags)
  • Tickets: Separate PNRs (Self-transfer)

The Itinerary:

  • Leg 1: IndiGo (6E 1841) CCU (Kolkata) -> PVG (Shanghai) - Arriving 04:40
  • Leg 2: Air Canada (AC 26) PVG -> YVR (Vancouver) - Departing 15:55
  • Layover: ~11 hours 15 minutes

The Concern: I technically qualify for China's 24-hour Transit Without Visa (TWOV) because I will have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country within the time limit. Since I only have a carry-on, I don't need IndiGo to interline any baggage.

However, because I booked separate tickets, IndiGo's point-to-point system will view PVG as my final destination. I am worried that the check-in staff at CCU will simply see "No China Visa" and deny me boarding, refusing to acknowledge my Air Canada onward ticket.

My Questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully flown a low-cost carrier like IndiGo to China on a separate ticket using the 24-hour TWOV?.
  2. If the check-in agent pushes back, what is the most effective way to escalate? (I plan to arrive 4 hours early, ask for a duty manager)?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

PS - Gemini was used to format the post.

Travel Experience Wholesome interaction

Hey guys! Wanted to share one wholesome interaction that happened in Indigo flight. I am hiding details so that exact person details are not revealed.

This was an evening Indigo flight to Bangalore. After the flight had landed safely, one of the cabin crew reached out saying she wanted to know the name of the book I was saying. I told her the name, and we had a small chat about what kind of books we like to read. She gave some pretty good suggestions.

While leaving, she showed me the book she was reading. While taking a look at the book, she mentioned that I can keep it :) I was super surprised, and blushing internally. I too then offered her my book, and we ended up exchanging each others books.

It was pretty wholesome!
I wish I had asked her for insta Id or some other details to stay in touch!
Regardless, super excited to read the book.
In case you end up reading this post, do reach out!

Questions EaseMyTrip won't refund a failed booking (3+ weeks) — booking failed, no PNR, airline has no record. What are my options?

TL;DR: Paid for a flight on EaseMyTrip (gift card + credit card). Booking failed — no ticket, no PNR, doesn't even show in my account. 3+ weeks later, still no refund. Calls say "stuck at our payment gateway," emails say "pending with airline." Called the airline myself — they have zero record and said only the agent (EMT) can refund. Already raised a chargeback for the card portion. Need help with the escalation ladder + how to recover the gift card portion.

Posting to figure out my next move because I've hit a wall.

Booked a domestic flight on EaseMyTrip last month. Payment went through (part gift card, part credit card), but the booking failed — no ticket, no PNR generated. It doesn't even show up in my account's booking list. So they have my money and I have nothing.

It's now been over 3 weeks. Here's the runaround:

  • On every call: "Refund is processed from our end, it's just stuck at our payment gateway. Wait 24–48 hours." Same line, every single time, for 20+ days.
  • In email: Suddenly it's "pending with the airline, we're awaiting their response."
  • So I called the airline directly. They said since no booking was ever generated and no PNR exists, they have zero record of it — and only the travel agent (EaseMyTrip) can refund, because the agent holds the money.

So the "airline" excuse is provably false, and the "gateway" excuse has run for three weeks. At this point it feels like deliberate stalling.

What I've done so far:

  • Multiple calls (documented dates)
  • Escalation emails demanding written status + refund reference numbers
  • Raised a chargeback with my credit card bank for the card portion

Where I'm stuck:

  1. What's the actual escalation ladder for an OTA that just won't refund? Nodal officer? NCH? Consumer court?
  2. The gift card portion worries me — the bank chargeback only covers the credit card amount. How do people recover the wallet/gift card part?
  3. Has anyone actually gotten money back from EaseMyTrip via NCH (1915) or e-Daakhil? Roughly how long did it take?
  4. Any leverage I'm missing — RBI ombudsman, social media escalation, anything?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's fought a similar OTA refund battle. Thanks.
