Challenge FWI challenge: Get the Murder case against Tyler Robinson thrown out of court

The objective is to come up with a plausible way someone could sabotage the case and get the murder case against Tyler Robinson (who is accused of murdering Charlie Kirk) thrown out of court.

No, I don’t support any attempt to get the case thrown out of court. I’m looking for a plausible way it can HAPPEN.

Edit: This article should help get you started regarding plausibility.

Death/Assassination FWI: Brandon Gill is assassinated (Rewrite of a previous FWI).

On October 7, 2027, Brandon Gill is the person to get murdered. The killer this time is not immediately identified but it DOES trigger a nationwide manhunt for the perpetrator.

If Gill gets eliminated, how big would the subsequent manhunt for the killer be?

Author's note: This is not in any way intended to imply that I support political violence. I find political violence abhorrent, no matter who's doing it.

War/Military [FWI] On October 15, 2026, billionaires led by Elon Musk are able to "bribe" Iran into reopening the strait of Hormuz.

The terms:

The Iranian regime gets an undisclosed sum in the tens of billions from a syndicate that includes Musk and others

Iran agrees to reopen the strait and restrict its military activities outside of countries it borders

A large number of Iranian dissidents are released to the Gulf monarchies and Pakistan

Iran expresses a willingness to return to the JCPOA and/or transfer its nuclear program to Pakistan, which is historically an ally of both the US and the Islamic Republic and which has an existing nuclear program

ed to clarify: Once the strait is reopened, the US will cease all hostilities and will roll sanctions back to 2020 or earlier levels, and the US will condemn any further Israeli intervention in Lebanon or Syria unless authorized by the governments of those two states

How feasible is this? Does this affect the midterms?

Political/Financial FWI: Iran ends all relations with China

September 16, 2026. The Iranian government suddenly decides it is ending all relations with China, with the new Iranian Supreme Leader saying, “We are a nation for Allah! We will no longer have relations with infidels!”

The Supreme Leader orders the immediate expulsion of the Chinese ambassador to Iran, and recalls the Iranian ambassador to China back to Iran.

What would be both the immediate and long term consequences of such a move? Furthermore, in the interests of plausibility, what’s stopping Iran from doing this in real life?

Death/Assassination FWI: North Korea nukes Taiwan

On September 16, 2027, another nuclear test is conducted by the DPRK.

The nuke unexpectedly explodes over Taipei, capital of Taiwan. Kim Jong Un insists the nuke was faulty and the nuclear destruction of Taiwan was a total accident.

How would China, the US, South Korea, Japan and Russia take this? Would they buy Kim Jong-Un’s “accident narrative” OR would we see MAD?

Other FWI: An aircraft is hijacked remotely

September 16, 2028. A passenger airliner lands at a small airstrip in Chesterfield, MO. There’s just one problem: the aircraft was not supposed to land there and did not have clearance.

Upon being confronted, the flight crew tells a bizarre story: they claim that someone else was controlling the aircraft and forcibly diverted it to the airstrip in Chesterfield.

This incident goes down in history as the first time a phone app was used to hijack an airplane. What would be both the immediate and long term consequences of this event, in addition to its implications?

Challenge [FWI Challenge] Most likely next usage of an atomic bomb

What would be the most likely next targeted usage of an atomic weapon?

  • Can not be a test. Must be used on a defined target (as Hiroshima and Nagasaki were)
  • Can be a state or non-state actor
  • Delivery method is up to you
  • Dirty bomb is ok, but a full-blown atomic explosion is preferred

Challenge FWI Challenge: Get Chick-Fil-A cancelled

Inspired by a different post by [u/collegeoldie](u/collegeoldie), more specifically the following caption on that post:

“It would be unwise for CFA to overtly go against beef beyond the level of comedy used in the existing ads. The number of people who eat both chicken and beef would represent the majority of their customer base, but CFA is in the business of selling chicken. If they begin getting preachy about environmental matters or beef safety, it's going to turn off a lot more people than it will turn into customers. Paying protestors against beef would erode goodwill in ways they won't be able to control. Right, wrong, or indifferent, CFA has positioned itself as a conservative company with enough goodwill to survive attempts at cancellation (Italicized for emphasis). This is going to include meat consumption with no judgement on what variety. If they're going to preach, it's probably somewhat religious in nature (they remain closed on Sundays) rather than anything resembling specifics of current year politics.”
