Any good cheap restaurants in Delft?

I live near the Hoven and every place i see on Google ends up being €15/20 a meal that isn’t even generous with the portions.
Can you guys recommend a restaurant in the Delft area that offers cheap, filling food that tastes good?
I hate cooking and thuisbezorgd daily would be way too much

Thanks in advance

Learning Dutch

Hoi allemaal!

I moved to Delft from overseas a few days ago and am trying to finally learn Dutch. I speak German and English, and it’s honestly pretty cool how many English-speaking people there are around Delft.

As a German, I feel like I can already understand quite a bit of Dutch, especially when reading or when people speak slowly. But the second someone starts speaking at normal speed, I’m completely lost 😅 And I somehow don’t dare to answer in Dutch yet.

For the Germans here: how long did it take you to get to the point where you could actually have a normal conversation in Dutch? Any tips that helped you make the jump from “I kind of understand this” to actually speaking?

Would love to hear how it went for others!

Any good and not pricey halal restaurants in Delft ?

Some muslim friends are visiting us that only eat hala food.

They are not as strict that they object to a restaurant that has other things, but to always ask details if the fish menu (since fish is hala) maybe has some alcohol in the sauce, or uses "just a bit of bacon to flavour the sauce", or uses lard (from pigs) when frying potatoes and so on is exhausting for them, so they prefer restaurants that clearly state hala and where of course the beef and chicken is also halal.

So do any of you know of Halal restaurants in Delft that are good for a dinner with friends ?

Bike went missing in front of Three Sisters Pub yday

Hey everyone, I was parked in front of Three Sister Pub last night for a few hours and the bike went missing.

Does anyone know if the municipality impounded those bikes or is it more likely that it was stolen? I saw that some bikes in the same area had some kind of receipts with barcodes on them attached to the handlebars but I'm not quite sure what that means.

Any info helps, thanks!

Iemand interesse?

Anyone going to cluster festival this weekend?

My friends have all slowly flaked on me but I still really wanna go, so figured I’d see if anyone here is in the same situation.

I’m 24M, into techno/house and generally down to just dance, drink a few beers and have a good time.

It Would be cool to meet up with some people beforehand or at the festival and make a little group.

If you're going solo / your friends are also useless at committing to plans, send me a DM 😂

No pressure if you just wanna meet up for a bit either!

I (21,M) am looking for a place to stay from September 2 - October 20 in or around Delft. No need for registration, and a small room is also fine, just gonna be here to do some quick work and visit friends. I'm a good tenant, very respectful for other people space and and very social, I can get along with anyone. If you know anyone leasing or subletting a room for 1-2 months, please let me know.

Anyone sitting on late 80s / 90s vintage LEGO sets? Thinking about setting up a local exhibition/pop-up!

Hello Everyone,

I recently posted in r/TheHague that I'm looking to connect with follow Lego-ers to see if we can put together a small Lego exhibition with Legos from the late 80s/early 90s era. I had some positive feedback, but would like to increase the outreach, both to see if people here are interested in visiting such an exhibition and in displaying their sets.

I hope you dont mind if I repost some parts of my last post here:

The Idea

I’d love to connect with local collectors to organize a 3–4 day community pop-up exhibition (likely over a long weekend). The goal would be to bring together complete, built sets and large dioramas from that era to share the nostalgia with the public, complete with a small ticketed entry to cover venue costs, security, and tables.

Depending on the scale and response, we could also look into local cultural/community micro-grants to help fund the space and logistics.

What I’m Looking for Right Now:

  1. Collectors: People who have built (or are willing to build) vintage sets/themes from this era and would be open to displaying them in a secure, guarded setup (roped-off tables / display barriers).
  2. Organizers / Collaborators: Anyone who has experience with local pop-up events, maker spaces, community venues, or existing LUGs (LEGO User Groups).
  3. General Interest: Would you visit an exhibition like this?

If you’ve got a closet full of nostalgia or want to help brainstorm and organize, drop a comment below or send me a DM with what themes/sets you have.
