This is a trial run on a daily free talk thread during the off-season. If you've got stuff to say that you don't think warrants a post of its own, say it here!
I've set the comments so they should sort by new by default, so that should make it easier to keep up with the flow of conversation. Off-topic chit-chat is welcome here as long as it follows the typical subreddit rules. Overall, be cool. Don't be all, like, uncool.

Pride night organized by VictoriaEGreen and the rest of the queer Stars fans over on TWT! I know a few people here were talking about it but just wanted to put this into the community over on this app as well!

I’m traveling to the prospect tournament in a couple of weeks, and would like to research some of the lesser known prospects before I go. Does anyone here have an idea of when the rosters are released?

Hi, I've been helping Kraken fans understand how to watch games on Prime the last few years and wanted to help answer some questions you might have. Until the Stars formally announce the deal we can't know for sure, but here's what I expect if the Stars get a deal like what the Kraken have.
All you should need is an active Amazon Prime membership and live within the Stars' local broadcast area. If you were able to watch Stars games on Victory+ before, you should be able to do so on Prime next season. The games themselves will be available in the Prime Video app or website for no extra cost.
Within Prime games are listed under the "Sports" section. They started showing up on my home page after I watched some games so Prime will know you want to watch future games.
No. Like Victory+ and all other regional broadcasters, they can only show "local" games not taken by the NHL's national broadcasters (TNT and ESPN) since those games are exclusive to those channels.
You'll still need ESPN+ to watch local games if you live outside the Stars' regional broadcast area or the national channels to watch the national games.
These are rules set by the NHL and how their media contracts are written.
I don't know, it depends on what deals the Stars sign with local channels.
Up here all Kraken games are also available on a collection of various local TV channels that are available free over the air with an antenna or in any basic TV package, in Seattle it's the NBC affiliate. We can watch either on Prime or through normal TV. The Stars might do something similar.
Overall the quality in Prime is typically very good. For the Kraken, Amazon only broadcasts the game, they don't produce it or hire any of the on air people. All of that is done by the Kraken in-house.
The Prime broadcasts include both the full pre and post-game shows for each Kraken game.
My best guess is that the Stars will do something similar for their broadcasts and produce it themselves like I think they were doing for Victory+.
Yes, but only for about 24-48 hours after the game. After that the replay is on ESPN+.
Prime does allow rewinding on live broadcasts so you can re-watch a big goal or save. You can also join an in-progress game either live or start from the beginning.
A few Kraken fans have experienced issues where Prime doesn't recognize they are in the local region. This appears IP/MAC address issue with some people's routers, see "Issues with Amazon Prime Region Restrictions" on the Kraken reddit wiki -

I just tried my VPN set to Seattle to see if I could play the replay of yesterday’s Seattle Storm of the WNBA game and I could see it, but would not play. It says unavailable. The Seattle Storm have their games locally on Prime like the Kraken.
It’s a definite answer if this will work with the Stars, but it doesn’t look good for VPN.

EDIT: Restating this at the top so it isn’t buried - Friday, January 22nd vs COL is my suggested date for this!
I know some people are gonna be mad about this post, but I don’t care.
Obvious elephant in the room - Stars aren’t hosting Pride Night this year. As an LGBT fan, this breaks my heart. I have no doubt that the reason for this change was to avoid backlash from the more conservative members of the Stars fanbase. So what I’d like to do is remind the Stars (and people everywhere) of two things:
To that end, I propose that instead of a boycott or protest or endless whining on social media (or anything else that usually doesn’t work for us in Texas), let’s try using positive reinforcement. Let’s SHOW UP.
I suggest we pick one game - the same game for all of us - and make that game the Unofficial Pride Night. Buy a ticket, wear your Pride Merch, make signs, do anything and everything you’d do at a normal Pride Night. Show Tom Gagliardi that this is happening every year no matter what, and the only thing he can control is whether he’s also able to make money selling us shirts!
My suggestion is Friday, January 22nd, vs Colorado. A Friday game increases the number of people able to attend. A Colorado game increases the viewership and therefore the impact we have. And, most importantly, this game is NOT currently slated to be any other type of promotional night, which means NOBODY can claim we are trying to steal attention from another group.
I think the important thing is to be positive and focused on our Stars fandom while also being loud and proudly supportive of Pride! When we’re at the game, be AT the game! If we turn this into an angry protest, people will use that to demonize us, but if we just show up in rainbow shirts and cheer the Stars as loudly and passionately as we can? Well, if you’ve got a problem with that then that’s a you issue, buddy!
If my fellow LGBT (and LGBT-supporting) Stars fans like this idea, then please spread the word and boost this so we can get an organized effort for people to show up!

I know he might not come here, but this Stars related-ish, because he hasn't been quite the same since that game 6.
