Xiaomi HyperOS unlock tool

Hello, russian developer here. I made a program which you can use to unlock your Xiaomi's phone bootloader (if its on HyperOS). It sends a request using your account's token, and after that you can pair your Mi account with your phone to unlock. Currently im optimizing it for English language and it will require me not more than a few hours to do so. I already tested this tool to unlock bootloader on my Xiaomi 14 Ultra and it worked.

Guidance for custom Rom building, device specific/device tree building

In attemps to build a non gsi lineage os 15.1 Rom, ngl was prompting AI for error resolving, which eventually worked out to create the generic build without a build scripts (I opted for this to better understand the errors and process for future refferences).

However, now that this is the case, in attempts to build device specific target (with no git release source tree/opensource repo) I was left with two options

1) build the target (hardcoded within the main lineage common file:

Alternative: Bypass AndroidProducts.mk

If the file persists as problematic, you can temporarily hardcode the path by editing how the build system finds products. But first, let's verify the current file is valid:

bash

# Test if Make can parse the file

cd ~/lineage

make -f /dev/null --eval='include device/tcl/U3A_PLUS_4G/AndroidProducts.mk' --eval='$(info PRODUCT_MAKEFILES=$(PRODUCT_MAKEFILES))' 2>&1 | grep "PRODUCT_MAKEFILES"

# Expected output:

# PRODUCT_MAKEFILES= device/tcl/U3A_PLUS_4G/lineage_U3A_PLUS_4G.mk

If this fails or shows empty, the file has syntax errors.

Or

2) build outside of 'lunch' targets, since appareantly, this selfmade repo structure does not compat well with or is undocumented for builds below 17.1.(specifically the AndroidProducts.mk detection is to be alligned with 17.1 builds, so I'm unsure what differs with 15.1 and it's needed files)

~/lineage$ ll device/tcl/U3A_PLUS_4G/

total 60 drwxrwxr-x 4 ubuntu ubuntu 4096 Sep 3 08:07 ./

________ this is all I'll be manually dumping, not going to clog up with images either, will just .txt the issues/solutions given I have it they are too long.

Nevertheless, i'm not about to go through 'rabbit hole' solutions when the model speculates too far from actual issues closer to what is needed. For example, claiming corrupt fs or files. ↓

Help me! I have to fix an issue I've been doing with my Galaxy A40

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy A40 using my Redmi Note as the host/flashing device, utilizing the Eros app (Eros - Fastboot/Odin flasher for Android).

However, I'm stuck because the Redmi Note does not detect the Galaxy A40 at all.

Here are the details of my setup and what I've done so far:

Host Device (Primary): Xiaomi Redmi Note

Target Device (To be flashed): Samsung Galaxy A40

Flashing App: Eros

Status: Galaxy A40 is in Download Mode / Odin Mode, connected via USB cable (with an OTG adapter on the host side), but the Eros app doesn't show the device as connected.

Things I have already tried:

Enabled USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on the Galaxy A40 before trying.

Verified the OTG connection (the host phone seems to power the target phone, but no data sync/detection occurs).

Changed the USB cable.

Has anyone successfully used a Xiaomi/Redmi device to flash a Samsung device via Eros? Is there a specific driver, USB configuration, or OTG setting I need to toggle on MIUI/HyperOS to make the target device visible?

Does Custom ROM break Knox? If so what are the risks?

I'm thinking of adding a Custom ROM to a Samsung A series phone (One UI 7) and it would be my first time doing Custom ROM. I want to do it to remove bloatware and especially the spyware app iron source but if I do it will it break Knox?

I also want privacy and security too (like Graphene OS as that's the best and even beats Knox) but what are the risks? does tripping Knox break security/privacy? if so in what way? as I heard it's important to have Knox.

I don't own a PC so can you do it at a computer shop? I don't wanna buy a computer just to ROM.

Edit: All I'm asking is if I trip the Knox fuse will I be at risk security wise? Or will the custom ROM still protect me as it might provide better security? (Like how graphene does os on pixel)... Simple really and I couldn't care less about NFC or Google Pay or whatever and no my phone won't get stolen

get_unlock_ability: 0

Dispositivo: ASUS ROG Phone 8
Modelo: AI2401
Modelo del dispositivo: ASUS_AI2401_C
Región: WW
Producto: pineapple
Android: 16
Firmware/compilación: WW_36.0210.1420.48
Versión del bootloader: PostCS4-21-WW-user

Desde Fastboot obtengo:

unlocked: no
get_unlock_ability: 0
secure: yes
current-slot: b

Help me find GUID, in OPPO/REALME/ONEPLUS Devices

Hi, I'm a developer who's trying to figure out ColorOS systems,

And one thing I've came across is the **GUID** which is persistent device identifier, as the use of IMEI or Serial Numbers are not publically visible, I'm curious to find how the Guid is generated for each device?

Please help me figure it out, I've found that guid is SHA256 hash

r/CustomROMsGuide 1d ago

Yes my friend, when you've never done it before, installing a custom ROM is a lot of work, but it's definitely worth it.

What happened to the headphone jack on the 3.5mm Tab A7 T505?

I recently installed Linge OS on my Tab A7 (model number T505). Everything works perfectly except for the headphone jack, which doesn't work at all. Although when I plug in headphones, I hear the connection sound, which is a light popping sound. The jack was working normally before the installation this morning. Note that I installed the latest version, 23.2-20260830, which is fully supported for my device. Did I forget something, like a driver or something, or does version 23.2-20260830 (Android 16) not support the headphone jack and only support Type-C headphones (honestly, I haven't tried them)?

Install Custom ROM without vbmeta

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hello mate! I want to ask about the vbmeta.img file. I first installed a custom ROM using EvoX A16, because there was a problem with the LCD panel—ghost touch—I switched to Lineage OS A16. However, since the first time I flashed a custom ROM, I've never touched a file called vbmeta. So, what's its use?

I'm still using Lineage OS because it's stable and has revived my old device. btw, my device is a Redmi Note 8 (Ginkgo).

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (cusco / retin / Android 16) — Is a custom ROM worth it for gaming? Any stable builds?

Hey everyone,

I have the Indian retail variant (retin) of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, codename cusco), currently running Android 16.

I'm looking into unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom ROM, but my main priority is gaming performance and frame stability.

Before proceeding, I wanted to ask:

  1. Are there any dedicated, stable custom ROMs (LineageOS, Evolution X, crDroid) actively maintained for cusco, or is development strictly limited to Generic System Images (GSIs)?
  2. With the phone running Android 16 firmware, are there any vendor compatibility issues with existing GSIs/ROMs?
  3. For anyone running custom builds on this device, is there any real gaming performance gain over stock Hello UI, or does it cause thermal/driver issues?

Best phones for Custom ROMs in 2026?

About 10 years ago, I remember having fun with custom ROMs on my Sony Xperia. Now I want to get deeper into the custom ROM scene and maybe even try developing something myself.

I'm looking for a new phone mainly for custom ROMs and development.

I'd like recommendations for different price ranges, considering mainly ROM support and the strength of the developer community.

For the phone, this particular phone prefers youtube etc. for Samsung to work more comfortably and reliably. Resign. The lack of Google, you can still use modern programs 👍🏻

Only for samsung a10 for exnyos, many custom roms cannot be downloaded, linux works more comfortably on mi 5a lite, but the problem is that the phone is very old and the postmarket os I made in windows style unfortunately did not load :(
