I’m the developer of SluiceBox, a television-first IPTV media player that is now publicly available through Google Play. It installs directly on Chromecast with Google TV and Google TV Streamer devices; it is not a phone-casting app and does not support older cast-only Chromecast models.
SluiceBox is free to download and use. The Lite edition includes the core viewing experience, while Premium features and visual themes are optional in-app purchases.
The interface is designed around a D-pad remote and includes:
- A fast timeline TV guide
- Movies and series browsing
- Search, favorites, custom groups, history, and resume playback
- DVR and catch-up when the user’s source supports them
- Xtream Codes-compatible, remote M3U, local M3U, and XMLTV sources
- Channel ordering, visibility controls, and adjustable text sizes
- Backup and sync options
SluiceBox is only a media player. Users must supply their own legal source. The app does not provide channels, movies, series, playlists, provider subscriptions, or copyrighted media.
