Bought an 86 C10 sight unseen, first Chevy and ready to see what fun I can have for this.

1981 chevy c20 w/ 350 engine automatic trans

Took it to a shop, they told me the rockers are barely moving , and that I one hundred percent have a flattened camshaft. Is this normal movement in this video?

Problem:

- Loud pinging/choking/knocking when gas is pressed.

- Loss of power in a puttery, choking way.

- Started happening over 200-300 miles after I bought the truck and

- bought truck and drove it for about 200-300 miles with no problem. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the truck may have sat for a while. The old fuel filter was full of what looks like dirt or rust particles, but as you'll see , if you read the full post, I completely bypassed the tank.

Here's what I've done so far (just for this issue):

- Replaced exhaust manifold gaskets

- Switched these parts from another truck that ran great (carburetor, distributor cap, plugs, wires, fuel pump)

- Changed the fuel filter to brand new

- tested the vacuum canister (with my mouth) on the existing distributor to make sure that the mechanical weights moved when suction was applied) i'm not sure if they moved the correct amount, as they did not fully open when suction was applied.

- made sure the distributor is hooked up to the right vacuum port on the carburetor (same one from the other 350 on the other truck)

- checked initial and advanced timing (I don't think this was perfect, but i'm not sure if that would be a big deal if it's only a couple degrees off, i don't know if it would cause this big of an issue)

- cleaned distributer weights (look great!)

- bypassed gas tank entirely with temporary tank with DIFFERENT GAS

So I recently bought a truck for $1800 a 99’ Chevy Silverado z71 it has 189k miles and I drove it around 50 miles I’m use to working on cars and am somewhat knowledgeable but with trucks I’m lost the frame is what I’m most curious about and maybe the 4l60 trans I heard it’s notorious for being horrible but I would appreciate any insight

This has to be a rare config right? It's my first time seeing a step side Silverado of this era.

I have a 2015 1500 with the 6 speed. Has 153k miles. When driving, if put into drive, it slips out of first at about 4 mph, but if driven in manual mode, drives fine. Can use all of first. I only have the issue in drive

I want to get a 88-89 chevy truck but i don't know the differences between the different trim packages and look revamps they did and I'm not that smart so wiki didn't help. I'm just trying to learn the differences between their looks and everything cause its confusing for me and i don't. Anything would help

I like IRocs on camaros.. those thinny thin tires look dumb on a truck... i'm thinking some deep dish with beefy tires...

My lasfit liners showed up today. My truck is a ‘25 1500. I let them sit in the sun for an hour or so and dropped them in. super happy with the fit and finish. I’ve had liners from husky and weather tech both. These are just as nice. I would recommend them to anyone.

Truck apparently has a 6in rough country lift I doubt it but does have the big long bar on bottom so maybe. I want to level it to get rid of nose dive but I don’t want to ruin the truck like breaking it. it’s going to ruin the drive comfort but its already is uncomfortable driving in it. Any thoughts if I should level if so maybe a 3in level ? And do you all think it’s a 6in lift 😂
