The 2027 U20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will see Canada there after 20 years. This gives young CPL stars to shine on the big stage and give exposure to the league.

I think the homegrown U21 minutes should only count clubs actual academy players. Because we've seen MLS academy guys come in to get first team experience but they aren't really homegrown talent from the CPL's teams academy. I don't know if this might sound stupid but I like to see guys come from a team's academy into their first team not just MLS guys who already have some attention on them.

I've noticed how forges bench is made up of only strikers, I wonder why there are no real defenders in their team.

Other tidbits:

• Forge's Aghilas Sadek and Ottawa's Tim Arnaud really helped them passed the U21 requirement in recent games.
• VFCs Emrick Fotsing minutes will now be counted as loan minutes due to him signing with the Whitecaps whenever he comes back from injury.
• Inter Toronto has signed multiple U18 contracts in the past month to help with the minutes.

Pacific FC defeated the HFX Wanderers of Nova Scotia 4-3 on Sunday at Starlight Stadium for the Island club’s first Canadian Premier League victory since Aug. 10 of 2025.
