Big Ten Network was launched at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 30, 2007, with Big Ten Tonight as its inaugural program. The network aired its first live telecasts two days later on September 1, which included a football game between Appalachian State and Michigan

So basically the whole B1G should be thanking Michigan for convincing people to get the Big Ten Network. We really kickstarted people’s interest in the network.
I wonder how many Buckeyes and Spartians subscribed in the 4th quarter just to watch the end.

Hello everyone and welcome to the UMass bandwagon. Us sickos who have been here in the basement for years are happy to have you on board.
This game was obviously incredible. Pop Watson is instantly the best QB we've ever had. The offense looked amazing. Our defense has never had 3+ TOs in any meaningful game I can remember. They made big tackles in a way we never had. Special teams was excellent and penalties were limited, two areas that have routinely caused us heartbreak for years. Seems like this team will be fun to watch!!!
For long term stuff, I think fans were maybe hoping for 3-4 wins this year (we play 2 FCS teams), and now of course are hoping for more. We have a second year head coach, Joe Harasymiak ,who has rebuilt the team after not having a full recruiting cycle last time around.
Many have asked for years why have any hope for UMass and even before this win, there was some reason to have hope. Harasymiak was a good hire and we actually have recently committed to being the top funding team on the MAC for NIL, facilities, and staff. So there was reason to believe, but maybe we're ahead of schedule.
Anyway, pleased to have you aboard! Come root for us as we apparently challenge for a MAC title and our first bowl game? But honestly we have no idea what happens from here!!

It really has been a journey. Like knowing they were terrible and had no hope and tuning in anyway, basically all for the purpose of this payoff today. It's funny to (re)define sports success as a fan in New England. And this win just feels sooo gooood.

One of the biggest upsets in FBS history for sure.
Absolutely ridiculous loss for a P2 team and equally ridiculous win for a UMass program that knows almost no success at this level of play (power conference opponents). It wasn't like they scraped by either, UMass outclassed them in every phase of the game.

UMass has been easily the worst FBS team since moving up in 2012. They are 26-134 since 2012 and 7-53 since COVID.
It’s been 677 days since Umass won a football game.
It’s been 1,041 days since UMass beat an FBS opponent.
It’s been 2,903 days since UMass beat an FBS opponent by 16+ Points
It’s been 3,946 days since UMass won by multiple scores on the road against an FBS opponent.
It’s been 17,749 days since UMass beat a power FBS team.
It’s been 45,206 days since UMass beat a traditional power FBS team as a “Major” Division 1 school.
The last time it happened was October 4th, 1902 against Boston College.
And for the first time in the 53,611 days as a program, UMass won a game as 30 point underdogs
For all the problems it has, College Football truly is the most special sport in the world.

Congrats on your 5-star recruits and $100M facilities, B1G fans. Meanwhile, the MAC is out here playing real football in front of 14 people and a raccoon on a Tuesday night during a blizzard. You ever seen a punter throw a touchdown to a long snapper while the scoreboard's on fire? Didn't think so.
While y'all are busy arguing over which frat-funded dynasty is slightly less fraudulent, Toledo's cooking up a triple-reverse flea flicker in a game that ends 43-42 after six missed PATs and a goalpost gets stolen. That's not football. That's MACtion. You wouldn't survive one quarter in Ypsilanti.

UMASS went 0-12 last year and had lost 16 games in a row.
They scored 14 or less points in 10 of their 12 games last year, and lost by 4+ touchdowns in nine of them.
They were outscored 214-54 over their last 5 games of 2025. An average score of 43-11.
They had lost 23 straight games against FBS opponents.
They went 8-76 over the last 8 seasons.
They’ve had 7 seasons with 1 or 0 wins since 2011.
They had never beaten a power 4/power 5 team.
Today, they went into Rutgers, as a 29.5-point underdog, and scored 30 unanswered en route to their first win against an FBS team since October 2023 at Army.

Legit brought me to tears. Congrats to all my fellow fans out there. I don't think any other fanbase can quite relate to how we feel right now.
We need to keep it rolling against Sacred Heart and Stonehill or it's all for nothing.

Absolute coaching malpractice not to put the backup in and save those 2 timeouts for the next game

Hell yes, Minutemen. What a win to break the losing streak and beat the first P4/P5 team in their FBS history. Just straight dominating a P2 team, almost flipping the spread the other way (ahead of the garbage time TD drive). What a game to start the week with more than 9000 comments in a UMass game thread. Happy for you guys, have some great fun with that QB, he might be electric.
Shianos buyout was 23 million dollars at the end of the last season.

I know this thread is going to be full of LOL Rutgers which is fine, but this is my national championship right here. We didn't just win, we looked like a legitimately good football team. Seriously go look at some highlights, some of Pop Watson's throws were nuts. I almost wonder if this might be the year we manage our first ever bowl bid. I'm so happy y'all
