I’ve never seen someone who kept failing upward, then torched all that unearned good will to the ground.

Que Kiffin entering some sort of rehab/treatment center by November/December.

Those are pretty much the norm though. These people don't know how good they have it until it's too late. They have to be smart and self-aware enough to know they didn't get there on their own merits.

There's something to be said about the schools that keep getting sucked into this somehow. Dude sold his soul and got his money's worth I guess.

Can you please explain how going from USC HC to Alabama offensive coordinator was failing upward? And how he failed as the Alabama OC? And how he failed as the Ole Miss HC?

If Lane wasn’t a nepo baby, no one would put up with his shenanigans.

I never said he was a poor coach. His last name and charm bought him a lot of grace with glazed over his garbage behaviors.

I think that was right for a long time, through his flame out at USC probably. I disagree post-Bama tho. IMO, his success at Ole Miss was real and his. He did not get that job because he was Monte Kiffin’s son. Let’s not pretend he wasn’t tied to basically everything P4 head coach vacancy from 2018 until he went to ole miss

You didn’t answer any of my 3 questions. You said he failed upwards. Please explain how he’s done that in the last decade of his life

He’s a really good coach. Hardly failing upwards. He’s also just a prick

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Lane Kiffin’s problems post-Bama haven’t really been about his coaching ability, they’ve been about basically everything else. He’s a solid coach and potentially elite program builder in 2026. But he’s also the GOAT program destroyer, so…..
