At the Florida School he was up to hijinks but it was far enough off the radar to be funny not harmful. His time at Old Miss was kind of a PR reset for him. He was saying the right things pretending to be a better person, he had genuine good will. That he spent the last 9 months pouring gasoline on it all lighting a fire and then pissing on the ashes is kind of impressive. I have to wonder what the PR people he had around him before have to say about it all.

When the money became life-changing, the bad actors were going to come out, why fight for a roster spot in the NFL when you’re marginal player when you can go back to college be an impact player and make a couple hundred thousand dollars or more
NIL for all the good it’s done for the players is the worst thing to happen to college football as a whole

Its why as much as people dog on the NCAA for refusing to give an inch on it, its obvious why they didn't.
The second they gave an inch, the dam was going to break. One person would sue to make the crack a little bit wider, then another, then another. Once "amateurism" was gone, everything starts running up against labor law and without congressional intervention (which is itself a shitshow) there's no way most of the rules that we know surrounding eligibility don't get torched.

Ole Miss, A&M, UK, Auburn, Bama, Tenn, Texas, Ark, AND Miss St can simply say “do this, and we aren’t playing you this year.” Like every Big 12 team did to Texas Tech, and you’d see a MAJOR back-peddle.
The issue is that it’s millions lost in revenue and there’s no way in hell the corporate sponsors would allow them to do that.
It’s pretty friggin simple solution to fix.

This is literally ruining the sport. I don't mean that figuratively.
I care a whole lot less about LSU than I ever have before. Why? Because I'm not invested in the players anymore. I don't know who is on my team anymore because they transfer in, spend a year here and get drafted or they transfer out.
There's no sense of connection. The players aren't connected to the fans and I them. This sucks. The SEC shorts video was very demonstrative of this.
There just needs to be a minor NFL league formed and they just pay the school for their "NIL". Let LSU sports go back to normal and let the administration get compensated by the Baton Rouge - saints minor league team to be called the LSU tigers. It sucks, but this is where consumerism has led us.
