There have been plenty of recent moments that made rivals begrudgingly respect one another. This might be the first that makes rivals actually LIKE each other. Enemies forever, but just for now, also friends.

Fortunately Ttu doesn't actually have any rivalries to worry about

Look up the Brendon Sorsby situation, got caught and admitted to betting on games including betting on the under of the team he was playing for, injunction says he can play this year and the court date will be in feb,

Texas tech is going to bat for him claiming it is a mental health issue and that they agree with the ruling, and won’t take him off their roster

23

u/HermionesWetPanties Michigan Wolverines • Adrian Bulldogs Jun 16 '26

It's the "But I'm an alcoholic!" defense to a DUI that killed someone.

Yeah, you have a problem, we get that. But the point is, unfortunately, that you should have sought help before you fucked up this badly. If this is your wake up call, that is great, but you still need to face the music. Learn from it. Grow some more. That's all good. But you're still going to pay a penalty for what your actions.

Talk to the parole board in a few years, express to them the sincerity of your regret. But fuck off with trying to just say, "My bad," right now. It's not good enough. You need to face repercussions for what you did. And layering your way out of repercussions shows a lack of personal accountability. If he were truly sorry, and the victim of a disease, he would step away as an act of penitence.

This is what finally broke Tech, this volleyball match saved college football.

u/HavenXIII Jun 16 '26

I just dont get Texas Tech. Why are you taking all this heat for a guy that has never and probably will never play for your team

5

u/MeinEllbogen Jun 16 '26

They can't admit they were wrong. That would show weakness!

Tech still hasn't made a statement about either of the legal developments or the additional AGs going public.

Is there a public holiday in Texas?

Cody Campbell hasn't told them what their opinions are yet.

First domino. Thank you Michigan!!!

I’ve been trying to think of what team to follow this year and I think I’m going with whoever hurts Tech the most. So far this is putting Michigan in the lead

15

u/RealEmperorofMankind Michigan Wolverines • Marching Band Jun 16 '26

First two dominos were Georgia and Nebraska. Then, I guess, the Big Twelve, which has filed suit against its own member.

I genuinely feel bad for the non-football TTU athletes getting fucked over by this. But tat the same time, the message needs to be sent loud and clear that what the football team is doing is not ok

I hope more schools still follow through and cancel games. Tech pushed this too hard to walk away without consequences.
