It’s funny how their terrible administration (remember they wriggled out of paying Coach Mike Leach ~$2.5 million by hiding behind sovereign immunity) has now argued successfully in court that not letting Sorsby play will cause him irreparable harm. If they are forced to cut him, the subsequent lawsuit would be pretty clear that is their stance. He’ll have a great case, if they don’t try to hide again. Paying him (and Leach) anyway would be a truly epic billionaire move that would actually change my opinion of TT and CC. $7.5 million wouldn’t be that much, TBH.

Now the question would be would that matter to the committee?
When the Michigan cheating scandal first came out, this question was posed what if the big10 vacated all their wins. The committee said it wouldn’t matter because they saw what they needed to determine they were in the top 4.
However, I believe the committee will find a way to punish them regardless. And deservedly so.

I know the chances of this happening are low, but SOMETHING has to happen. This is the one time I’ve seen almost the entire CFB world united on something. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t bet a lot or you didn’t play, betting on your own team is the one line you cannot cross, even ignoring all the other stuff.
I mean, what would’ve happened if in one of the games he bet on, all the other QBs went down and he had to play in an emergency. Even if he didn’t play, you inherently have insider knowledge and information, which is another can of worms in and of itself.

Tech sports can join the embarrassment along with all of the academic censorship. Everything top to bottom is now an embarrassment.

Can we be the only TTU now? At least recognized as the real TTU?

No school that refuses to play Tech should have it counted against them. In fact, give the boycotting school a win. If the law won’t hold them accountable then the conference should.

If we don’t lose a game does that mean we’re national champions?

Good on our ADs.
I'd definitely love to hear Graham Rossini's position on this.

Until sorbsy is removed from the team nobody should play them, they have a player gambling on his own team that's clearly an ineligible player.

I mean I emailed our Athletic Department and explained how I wasn’t going to any or watching any games this year as long as they are in a league that (effectively) allows match fixing. Will they read it I don’t know but that’s all I can do

If you click the article, there is a direct quote from your AD saying "its fucking bullshit" as well as saying KSU is reconsidering playing them in the 2027 season since they dont play them this year

KSU AD: "I received an email from BallGargler iii stating he will not watch any games if TTech is allowed to play with a gambler, we must boycott the game immediately."

This is a terrible decision that reeks of corruption, Cody Campbell flexing and is downright FOUL.
Texas Tech should be wholly embarrassed by this, the kid BET ON HIS OWN TEAM. He should be done at a power 5 school or in college period. Can he play in the NFL sure if a team would have him but no way should he get another chance in college

The day before Sorsby’s suspension is set to end, the CFP committee (which importantly, the CFP is a separate entity from the NCAA) should announce that if Sorsby plays a single snap, Texas Tech will be permanently ineligible for the CFP. Not just in 2026, they will never make the CFP ever again if he plays.
Also worth noting that teams are already refusing to play Texas Tech in softball because of how blatantly they tamper with every star player. Though that’s more refusing to schedule them, not actually forfeiting games
