December 2019 3 of us at the office got it before we knew what āitā was. Felt like I got hit by a truck. We had the cough for months. Had all the vaccines and still got it 4 more times.
Same for me. I came home from a trip to NYC in mid-December 2019 and got sick days later. Iāve never been sick like that before, or after. Straight up delirium. I never went to the doctor, so I donāt know if I officially had COVID or not (not that it mattered, it wasnāt a āthingā yet) but..wow.
Iāve never been diagnosed with or actually tested positive for COVID (and for a few years there every time I had a sniffle I would test at home). My husband also got sick after our trip from NYC, and the same thing goes for him - never āofficiallyā had it. No scientific proof of course, but I swear we had it in 2019 & it helped us gain some kind of immunity. Or we were just carriers without symptoms. Who knows.
The worst part of COVID for me was also the body aches and chills, I've never seen anyone else mention them before.
I felt so hot and sweaty but I was always constantly, violently shivering. My cough wasn't terrible, more like a bad cold, but the pain and constant shivering were awful.
I just made a super long comment about a similar illness around that time. I never tested positive for COVID back then but I fully believe thatās what I had. Iāve never been so sick in all of my life only to be told it was āsomething viralā and there was ānothing we can doā. I felt the effects for over a year but the first few months were the worst. I had to have walking assistance to my college classes and felt like I had walked the length of the US everyday before bed. It was the closest to death Iāve ever felt so I imagine it was much worse for children and the elderly.
I had the worst pneumonia of my life in early 2020 before the world shut down. I'm asthmatic and could not take a proper breath even on oxygen....they still sent me home with antibiotics. I worked as a bartender so I probably caught Covid from a customer but they were only testing people who had been to China so they just thought "really weird pneumonia".
I had been on a specialty cruise that draws people form all over the world. No doubt I got it there. Symptoms started on the day we got off the ship, first week in Feb 2020.
Are you in the PNW? I went to Seattle from Vancouver in January 2020 and got laid the fuck out by a flu as soon as I got home. I am someone who prides themselves on not letting things get me down but I literally couldnāt move from the couch to fill my water or feed myself.
Covid hit and I swore I had one of the earlier cases. It was unlike anything Iāve ever had.
I'm in Southern California. I also pride myself on not getting sick and overall being healthy in general so I was super confused when I woke up the first money feeling ill. That Saturday I was fine, work up Sunday I could barely move because my body hurt so bad.
I probably had it too Jan 2020 before it had a name. I sat for 3 days only sipping cola, staring at the tv trying to forget I was alive. Couldn't eat, trying to breath. Finally hauled myself to the dr, tested for flu (negative) finally slept some after 4 days, wasn't right for months. Cough was horrible. One of the worst 3 illnesses in 60 yrs. I was the lucky one. My roommate had a stroke after coming down with what I had a day later than I did.
