When I had raw Covid in January of 2020, before anyone even knew it existed (found out later). I lost my sense of taste, and I was so sick every heart beat felt like it would be the last one. I was on the phone crying to my doctor because it was a full TEN DAYS after the fever had broken and I still could only drag myself to the bathroom and back to bed and that took every bit of strength in my body. The sense of malaise was totally overpowering. It took months to recover.
I’ve never been the same. My immune system has never been the same. I had Covid twice more after vaccination and it was nothing like that!
Same time period, pretty sure it was Covid a week before Covid was a thing, I thought I had the worst flu of my life, couldn’t get off the couch for a week
I remember having it bad in 2021 and the malaise is insane! Like a dementor sucking your soul and life force out of your body for a few hours, then you are alright again and energised for a small windo.. nope its gone again, back to lying down.
Dude, December 2019 I traveled through Korea, China and Thailand, got it, came home, called my dad mid school day, because all of a sudden my headache and chills turned into… I couldn’t see. And was hallucinating in English class. And I don’t remember the next two months, I had a 106°fever for a while, coughing up blood clots, never ventilated but I had a cannula, feeding tube, IV, Catheter.
My husband had Covid before Covid “officially” showed up in the US, too. He tested negative for everything else in the ER, so it had to be Covid. He was really quite sick.
Jesus I remember the malaise when I got it in early 2023, and that was likely one of the milder variants by that point. Even still it took me weeks and weeks to gain full use of my body back and stairs weren’t an option for at least two months. I can’t imagine getting the first variant and dealing with that level of sickness
This. February 2020 I was legit delirious. Like I had never ever felt that sick before and had no idea what it was. Thankfully it was short lived, but it was brutal. I’m convinced it was Covid before Covid was a thing.
Same exact timing for me. I got it right after Christmas of 2019 and they just kept giving me inhalers and antibiotics and nothing was working. I had it 2 more times since then. My immune system never recovered.
I think I had covid the week before everything shut down. It was never confirmed. But, im sure it was. I was soooo sick. Every blink was torture. It was bad.
Same for me. Had it before it was really known at the end of 2019. Was in bed for two weeks, in and out of fever, extreme muscle pain and terrible headaces. Was extremely exhausted for months after. Had brain fog so bad i feared i got Alzheimers.
My immune system never recovered.
Caught Covid four times after vaccination and booster, felt sick but not in the slightest as the first time.
Idk what changed during those times but my immune system gained one weekness, coughing children. working at an amusement park one kid in the front of the line just coughed in my general direction not even covering it and I got sick the next day. Sometimes when my sister in law brings her children over I’ll sometimes get sick because of some lingering illness from whatever school they go to. Idk the worst one tho, they kinda don’t pale in comparison to the worst respiratory distress episode I had as a kid, woke up with croup cough went to the shower to try to see if steam would help (it worked a few time), it didn’t, then my parents did a nebulizer treatment (this wasn’t the first episode by far but I’ve been episode free since I was 10). Midway through that I reportedly said “I’m going to die” and my pulse oximeter read an SPo2 of 40%, I’m pretty sure now that my body may have entered an extreme state of oxygen conservation not unlike the dive reflex we have. Since the deadly level is 70% (Health professionals feel free to comment!). Anyway I wake up in the PICU (I was 5 at the time) and I was under observation for a week and even missed a field trip because of it! (still salty to this day!) all that because of seasonal allergies and either what was a cold or the flu. Not fun for any party involved.
I had wild Covid too. It was like 10 different illnesses in one. Everytime one bit improved, something else started. I had such bad conjunctivitis I couldn’t open my eyes when I woke up. I was in bed and quarantined for 2 weeks, then I started with the tight chest and cough and coughing up blood. I had a sore throat for months, like I’d drunk bleach all the way down my oesophagus. I’ve had Covid 4 times and that was so insane compared to any of the others
