Moorish Sammezzano Castle (Tuscany, Italy). Why didn't it become a museum?!
It is absurd that we have this masterpiece (the gardens are beautiful, too) yet no one knows about it. Unfortunately, it is a private property, though it is slated to become a museum in the coming years. Built between 1605 and 1889 in an eclectic style (predominantly Moorish), it has hosted Italy’s most prominent politicians and nobles, as well as its finest film directors (Pier Paolo Pasolini and Alberto Sordi both directed films here).
