A friend of the organization update: Victor Rojas announced he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Horrible news to hear and I hope the best for him.

I'd be very interested to see how the platinum triangle will look like in 5-7 years with the completion of the OCVibe and whatever Kroenke develops.

Assume you are build a new stadium at some part of the current lot in Anaheim.

What would be the outfield backdrop/views and direction of the stadium?

Which part of the lot would you use?

Would there be anything such as rocks in the outfield?

Where would you but the Big A?

Would you incorporate the train, LA Live or anything else?

My family moved to Maryland in Sept 1992, exactly 9 months after the Washington Redskins won their last super bowl. Imagine everything Angels fans went thru last 15 years, but double it. Then double it again, cuz Snyder was worse than Arte in many objective ways. Being a fan of the Redskins/Commanders is a permanent scar on my life. But for some reason I remained a fan. (And yes, Angels were my baseball team. Long story.)

So when Snyder got the boot and we got new ownership, it felt surreal. And that year we drafted Jayden Daniels and went all the way to the NFC Championship. Truly surreal.

Except.... by then I already stopped watching.

You see, the new Commanders owner Josh Harris is one of the original guys who created the entire private equity industry. No matter how terrible Snyder was, ultimately he was another slimy rich guy who started a business and made it big. But Harris is different. It's not just greed/slime. These post-1970s Wall Street guys are rape-and-pillaging society and creating misery at an industrial scale. Watching him grin on the sidelines, I couldn't take it. My disgust overwhelmed my love for the players.

Why am I posting this in r/angels? I just wanted to remind people how lucky we are. Kroenke is another billionaire, but at least he's not a Wall Street ghoul. He married into Walmart money and leveraged that into a successful real estate empire. He's an "old-style" capitalist. Same for his son Josh who runs their sports stuff.

We lucked out. These Wall Street ghouls are buying up teams like crazy. Jose Feliciano (Padres), David Rubenstein (Orioles), Steve Cohen (Mets), etc. They're sports-washing their dirty legacies. Literally buying love of the working class people whose lives they've ruined.

I know most people don't care. That's fine. Just enjoy the sport. But for those who care, I just wanted to share my painful->grateful perspective cuz I'll never have a chance to say this again.

When your owner is dirty, it's more likely to cause cancer. Look at the Dodgers. Their owner Mark Walter is another Wall Street ghoul. Now he's being investigated for $20b insurance fraud (among the ridiculous details, he reportedly used customer premiums to buy a house for a subordinate he was banging). He might even be forced to sell the team and rip-up Shohei's contract.

Over the past decade, as the Angels descended from a perennial contender into a laughingstock, the man at the center of the decline was Moreno, according to interviews with current and former Angels officials, rival executives and others around the game, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to freely discuss their former team or another team.

Moreno meddled in baseball decisions. His occasional free-agent splurges obscured an organizational myopia that left his team with scant investments in staffing, analytical advancements and technological necessities. A toxic culture spilled into public view during the trials after Tyler Skaggs’ death. His ballpark and facilities fell into disrepair, a situation that may be remedied under the stewardship of new owner Stan Kroenke, who entered an agreement to purchase the team this week at a $4 billion valuation.

But perhaps no situation crystallized Moreno’s blind spots more than his handling of Ohtani. Eight months after Moreno suggested Ohtani might belong among baseball’s 10 best players, Ohtani collected a second American League MVP award and hit the open market. Teams across the sport lined up to recruit him. Despite a belief among some within the organization that Ohtani wanted to stay in Anaheim, the Angels were not one of them. When Ohtani sought a $700 million package that deferred 98 percent of the salary, Moreno declined to engage. He did not believe the contract made business sense.

#6: Jo Adell, OF, Guardians

Acquiring left-hander Foster Griffin has been a plus for Cleveland, which can line him up behind the likes of ace Gavin Williams and standout rookie Parker Messick to form what could be a great rotation in a short playoff series. But what the Guardians really needed at the Deadline was more offensive firepower. Adell has brought that as he's posted 11 extra-base hits and an .815 OPS through 24 games.

Adell has been even better of late, slashing .327/.383/.527 over his previous 14 games. He enjoyed a six-RBI game in the middle of that stretch, something only one other Guardian (Angel Martínez) had achieved in the previous three calendar years. Prior to Adell's arrival, Cleveland ranked 27th in wRC+ (92). Since his first game on Aug. 4, they are tied for 11th in that stat (103).

Angels fan since 2002 from Vancouver, I was 4yo, my dad became an Angels fan after the Expos folded and he followed Vlad, started playing baseball that year and they won the WS of course.

Boycotted for a few years since Arte said he was selling the team then decided to stay, I just couldn’t watch 2 generational talents get wasted mostly due to a horrible pitching staff. I was a pitcher and I just can’t stand watching teams implode like that every day.

Team needs a lot of work, but I nearly cried in a coffee shop the other day just thinking about watching Angels games again and being able to support the team I’ve loved my whole life, and reconnect with the sport I dedicated my life to growing up.

Hopium is strong. Get Trout the ring he deserves.

Ok I’m gonna go a little inside baseball so bear with me.

I believe the biggest part of this sale is getting an NFL owner into the MLB owners meetings. I think a lockout is coming and the players association will never agree to a salary cap. They are too strong. I think the only want to save baseball is to split the TV rights revenue.

NFL and NBA negotiate rights as a league and split the revenue evenly. It creates financial balance thus creating competitive balance.

While big city teams can own their networks and create revenue , small clubs can’t. There is reason why 3 of the 4 final teams in the NBA are Oklahoma City , San Antonio and Indiana. It’s how the Green Bay Packers can be a successful franchise.

This is the only way I can see solving baseball’s competitive balance issue. Now that we have the richest owner in the MLB we might want to overspend and buy a winner but more importantly he brings winning culture that would thrive no matter what the rules are.

When I was 9 years old, I’d started playing baseball again- I’m from Long Island, New York- my dad made me a Yankees fan when I was young. I played baseball when I was 4-5 in a tee ball league. But 9 was when I really got attached to baseball. When I was 10 years old, I discovered the Angels, they quickly became my favorite baseball team as I idolized and fell in love with Mike Trout, but also fell in love with players like Kole Calhoun and Andrelton Simmons. As I grew up, I kind of switched between teams, from the Dodgers, to the Cubs, to the Mets, to the White Sox, and even the Red Sox. For a while, I’d lost baseball- I’d struggled mentally, went down the wrong path, ended up depressed, lost people what felt like daily. By the time September started in 2024, I was in an alternative school and I felt… lost. I had no friends, I felt like I didn’t have any good family, and I felt alone… By October, the Mets had made that deep run to the NLCS, I ended up playing a lot of MLB The Show 24 at the time and watched as much Mets baseball as I could, but after a bit, I didn’t see myself as a Mets fan. By November, a team from my past had made me fall back in love with baseball, the Angels. In November I was buying Angels hats, buying tickets for whenever they were in New York, and asking specifically for Angels related clothes for Christmas in December. By December, I was in the lowest place I’d ever been mentally, so much so to the point where I’d ended up hospitalized, but the Angels had kept me going- they gave me a reason to live, and my dream was to play for them one day- and it still is. Throughout the rest of that school year I’d struggled even more, but the Angels kept me going and in June of 2025, I saw my first Angels game, they played the Yankees at Yankee Stadium and won 1-0 in 10 inning, Christian Moore slapped his first big league hit, an opposite-field triple to the right field gap, and then the summer came, I played baseball nearly every single day and kept up with the Angels and watched as many games as I could. As more time has passed, the Angels only mean more to me. I hit a baseball 252 feet recently, and I know I can hit a baseball even further if I really put in the work, as I continue playing baseball as much as I possibly can. When Mozeliak turned around the future of the Angels towards the trade deadline, I couldn’t have been happier, we gained new young players, while we lost O’Hoppe who I looked up to, as well as Adell, I loved the trades we made for Nimmala and Ballesteros specifically, along with all the others. As the season progresses to a near-end, I know the Angels have a chance to make the playoffs next season, and I pray for a miracle this season since the Angels are not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. The sale of the Angels from Arte Moreno to Stan Kroenke has made me more happy, excited, and shocked than ever- as well as full of hope. I’ll never give up on the Angels, and I promise you all I’ll play for the Angels. I love you guys, this team, and Mike Trout!! 2026-2027-2028 are our years!! And beyond!! LET’S GO ANGELS!!❤️❤️🤍🤍🙏🙏

The Angels are bound to be a major draw for some of baseball’s brightest minds. They have a strong chance of getting the #1 pick, a hands off owner willing to spend, and are located in Southern California.

Who would you like to see the Angels pursue to help build the organization’s baseball program from the ground up? Are there any prominent executives whose contracts are ending, or elite assistant general managers ready to step up?

To me this is one of the best GM jobs openings we will see in a while so I wouldn’t be surprised if we go big. I think these pseudo rebuilds are what these guys want.
