hiii!! im a sophomore taking 3 aps out of 4 classes (block schedule) for this semester, and while I really don’t have a problem with the other 2 I have (which are AP music theory and AP computer science principles), no matter how hard I try to study, I simply can’t do well in AP physics

while I know there has to be something wrong with the way I study, i also dont think our teacher is giving us enough time or resources to study (as he constantly tells us to use AI and ask it the questions we have, and don’t ask him)

my study schedule at the moment, for most days is basically — get home at 4pm, begin to study at 4:30 til 6:30, eat dinner, then study more until 9-10pm before getting ready to sleep at 11pm

most of that time is just used to study physics, and yet my grade rn is a C+ ;; i really don’t know how to fix it, and it’s been around a month since school has started

should I genuinely just drop out? or is there any way to study better? he doesn’t give us resources, like telling us which chapter we’re supposed to study (he doesn’t use the textbook, he just makes us take notes whilst barely explaining much about it)

So I need a bit of advice and help. I have a terrible teacher for APUSH and I’m studying but I’m starting to learn I have absolutely no clue what notes to take. I was wondering a couple things. First, if anyone has any advice on how to take notes and how to know whats important. Second, if anyone has notes they may be willing to share for both study and so I can understand how to take notes.

My school is pretty small and doesn’t have that many APs. I’m taking APUSH and AP Lang this year, but my schedule doesn’t allow for any more because I only realized I wanted to take more after it was locked in, and it was too late; my schedule overlaps too much for me to take what I want. Do you think I could manage that while also self-studying for APES? I also want to self-study a brand-new AP called AP Business and Personal Finance, since I love finance and have background knowledge of it. Would this be way too much? Are these APs easy to self-study? Also, I throw that word around a lot, but I don’t really know what it means to self-study, like when you actually do it. Is there anything to help me from the College Board, or am I just completely on my own, like any videos that they post or anything, or a little practice? I would love to know what self studying is like from people who have done a few.

I’m only about three weeks into the school year, and I’m already struggling a lot in Calc BC (i'm a senior). For some context, I took Honors Precalc last year, and I honestly knew going into BC that math was one of my weaker subjects and that I had some gaps in my foundational skills. I expected that I probably wouldn’t do very well in the class, but I thought it might still be worth taking (even if it tanked my GPA) if I could at least get a 3 on the AP exam.

I’m currently failing the class, and even though I’ve been studying, I’m still not seeing much improvement. I took a retest today, and honestly, I think I may have done even worse than I did on the original test. 😭😭👌

I’m really thinking that I should drop down to Calc AB. The problem is that I’m not even sure if that would actually solve the issue. If I’m already struggling with what are considered some of the easier units in BC, I’m worried that I might still struggle in AB.

There’s also a scheduling issue that makes the decision a lot harder. If I drop Calc BC, I would have to drop AP Chem as well because Calc AB is only offered during 4th period, which is also when my AP Chem class is. There aren’t any other periods available for me to move Chem to. I really don’t want to give up AP Chem just because I couldn’t handle Calc BC, especially since I’m already a senior.

At this point, I’m just really unsure about what the smartest decision is. Should I stick with BC and try to improve my foundations and see if I can turn things around, or would dropping to AB be the more realistic choice even if it means losing AP Chem? I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has experience.

Hi guys! I wanted to get your thoughts on whether I should have this teacher write me a letter of recommendation. I’m applying to a scholarship/college program due next month (separate from Common App), and I’m planning to study biology, biological sciences, biochemistry, or a related field, and I know it’s recommended that I have one humanities and one STEM LOR.
So I already have my AP Lang teacher for humanities, and she happily agreed. For STEM, I originally asked my AP Chem teacher, but she declined because of time constraints, so I asked my AP Bio teacher, who agreed. They’ve written letters for me before for summer programs, but I was rejected from those programs. I know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it still makes me nervous.
What’s making me unsure is that when I asked what the signature was for on the document that I was given that has a compiled list of what to give the teacher, my teacher said it means I’m agreeing that they can “speak freely” about me. I understand that this is probably normal for a recommendation, but given my experience in their class, I’m worried they might say something negative. I am a junior this school year and taking AP Psych, AP Lang, and AP World. These will be my first AP classes, since I didn't take any freshman or sophomore year. What I'm worried about is the workload that I would have dealing with all of these APs while also needing to study for the SAT/ACT and having extracurriculars outside of school hours.

Since I've heard that AP World has the most work out of all of these 3 AP's, I'm considering dropping the class just so I can have enough time to focus on my other courses and study for the SAT.

I also just don't want to get burned out and want to have a life outside of just endless studying and schoolwork...

For reference, I'm interested in a criminology/psychology/criminal justice field in the future (not 100% sure yet, though)

So I signed up for Apes because my friend told me it was a light AP class. I had a lot of fun in AP Bio and this year I wanted to learn more about evolution and orangutans and chimpanzees and shit but my counselor put me in Environmental Science. I don't wanna learn about fossil fuels and stuff cuz I already know that so I tried to switch out but my counselor said our school doesn't offer AP Apes. So now I am like determined to self study it because my teacher said I look like a chimpanzee and I really like chimpanzees. Anyone know any good resources for AP Apes?

I've currently just started my junior year of high school and want to self-study AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics in order to take both exams in May. Does anyone have any tips, resources, or anything else that can help me out? I honestly have no idea where to start, this is my first time self-studying an AP class, and the only other class I've taken is AP Seminar (currently in AP Pre-Calc and Lang).

My current plan is to just go through Khan Academy's courses then review and practice, but I find Khan Academy's videos kind of confusing sometimes. Thanks!
