I remember his first sketch on The Daily Show, back when Comedy Central was a thing.

I miss when he and Jon Stewart criticized politics in general. A time long gone.

u/Soup-Wizard 18h ago

They still do?

u/BlackJackAce-777 17h ago

Sure they do. One way. It's not the way it used to be.

Bro Stewart still wildly criticizes democratic politics and actively reaches across the aisle more than the actual government. It’s not his fault the Trump administration is a distracting catastrophe

u/Soup-Wizard 15h ago

You haven’t seen vids of John Stewart criticizing Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer?

-7

u/Hilsam_Adent 17h ago

Politics, as a concept, treating both sides of the aisle as ridiculous, corrupt, sycophantic asshats that have no interest in serving the people who put them into office.

Yeah isn’t it a pain when people point out the guy you voted for turns out to be a war mongering pedophile? But hey it’s not all bad! He kept his promise to raise gas prices and rename bodies of water after America!

u/BlackJackAce-777 15h ago

I mean you did support MAPs and Walz who tried to pardon a pedophile from Laos. So there's that. Do you honestly think your party is better?

You haven’t seen John Stewart criticizing Hakeem Jeffries or Chuck Schumer for lack of action?

Is it the same thing? The Gulf States initially weren’t helping the U.S. strikes on Iran and some even barred the U.S. from using the bases in their nations to launch strikes or sorties. Yet Iran still went ahead and struck civilian infrastructure in all of them anyway.

The analogy to Nazi Germany is far more on point, as we’re talking about attacks on the actual aggressor rather than states unsupportive of the conflict in the first place.

It would be like Ukraine leveling civilian infrastructure in Belarus & Armenia as a response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory.

I was just thinking that Ukraine should target the the ships bringing gasoline to Russia.
