He just bombed schools on the first day back after summer in Kyiv and also bombed textbook production and storage centres because they produced books in Ukrainian

He’s attempting cultural and literal genocide while moaning the people he’s attempting to wipe out are fighting back.

u/Izmetg68 20h ago

and lets not forget kids on bikes, people running hiding under bridges, Theaters in Mariupol, Bucha Massacre, Old Babushkas in wheelchairs and grandpas on crutches....let me know when any of these civillian attacks influences the rest of the world to care.....

105

u/A_Skyless_God 18h ago

Most of us do care. Can I ask you what exactly it is you expect me to do? More importantly, what exactly are YOU doing?

70

u/jazzy663 18h ago

I was about to ask this as well. I've purchased things that go to fund Ukrainian efforts, but short of hopping in a plane to Ukraine and putting my boots on the ground, I'd like to know what else is expected of me. And then I'll tell you how realistic it is when the US is already dealing with multiple crises.

Also - being a vocal advocate for Ukrainian sovereignty does not to a whole lot in practice, but I submit in good faith that it is not nothing.

12

u/holyhottamale 16h ago

If you are interested, I have an American friend that is serving in Ukraine as a medic. I was matched with him through PAV so it is all legit.

I donate to him and his team every month and just sent them a huge care package.

Let me know if you want info!

3

u/SpineofGorgax 15h ago

I would love to do more to help but I'm so short on £'s. How much do the care packages cost? What sorts of things are needed?

4

u/holyhottamale 15h ago

They would appreciate anything really!

Snacks, hygiene products, a card saying thank you.

A lot of them on his team feel like the world has moved on so support means a lot to them.

2

u/jazzy663 15h ago

Given what's at stake, sending a care package is perfectly reasonable and I would encourage others to do the same. I definitely prefer to do stuff like that through a website, though, if that's available.

2

u/holyhottamale 12h ago

It is via PAV

https://protectavolunteer.com/

They are legit. I have more info I can share if you like - message me!

1

u/briarmolly 13h ago

I would like info

1

u/holyhottamale 12h ago

Message me pls!

1

u/PrivateDancer09 9h ago

Able to message me with details, would love to support your friend & this cause!

6

u/ndefontenay 17h ago

Eloquently said!

19

u/The_Folding_Atty 18h ago

…when the US is already dealing with multiple crises of its own making.

9

u/PetrichorMoodFluid 16h ago

... of their GOVERNMENT'S making. You realize most of us citizen ARE fighting back, correct...?

(Edited to correct spelling)

9

u/unlordtempest 16h ago

You, you do realize that a lot Americans, myself included, support Ukraine? There's the fact that we are currently living in this nightmare of a fever dream in which our once great nation is being run by an 80 year old man child who is, in my opinion, actively try to kill us by taking away food assistance, health coverage, vaccine mandates, and he's trying to deregulate things so that the food we consume doesn't have to be inspected. Because of these things, and so much fucking more, not only does the rest of the world hate us, everything is worse for us here. Groceries are obscenely expensive. There's kids getting measles. A company paid a sizable amount of money to his administration to get around some health inspection resulting in bad lettuce getting eaten all over the country which made a lot of people sick with a disease resembling dysentery. At least one person died from it, though there's probably more. The list goes on. He doesn't give a fuck about anyone that lives here unless they're a billionaire and in my opinion, doesn't really care about them either, just the money and influence they have. Us citizens do not have any say in what he does. In fact, I'm certain that he sees people as things. I'd move out of this place were I able.

2

u/Izmetg68 13h ago

Great comments! Agree with you

1

u/LeseMajeste_1037 16h ago

Tsk tsk tsk. We Americans are the Great Evil, and are not allowed to point out conditions in our own country, even if we don't support or agree with the things that our government does.

All we get to do is take our scoldings from the world stage and our lashings from the feds, with the same subservient lowered head.

0

u/Bonerstein 14h ago

He’s said it on a few occasions about how much he doesn’t care about Americans. It’s like a whole bunch of people forget the shit he says or they think it’s just the way he is. But i mean how many times does he have to say that he doesn’t care about Americans for Americans to believe it. They are going to be pissed if the 22% gets taken off of their social security checks. They have gutted everything!!! Now social security is on the chopping block right now. The shit we’ve been paying into forever. Every single person who has worked and had social security taken out of their checks should be outraged but they are not. I don’t get it.

2

u/unlordtempest 10h ago

The idiots say they like him because he says that kind of shit. They enjoy how it pisses off the people they don't like. Even if what is being negatively said is about them, they don't care as long as they can, as the say, own the Dems.

1

u/Bonerstein 9h ago

I am aware that they still want to own the libs. It’s just ridiculous that we are experiencing and hearing the same things and drawing completely different conclusions. We have a president who has said he doesn’t care about his people that voted for him and they think that is cool. That is mind boggling. I guess we will see more videos of people crying about how their vote has affected them if/ when social security gets knocked down 22%. I’m pissed I’ve been working since I was 14, I’m 47 now. I want all of the social security I have paid when I get to the point of retirement. You would think that other people would feel the same way but I guess not.

2

u/unlordtempest 3h ago

I honestly think the world will be all Max Max by the time we're old enough for social security. If not the world, at least the US. We all will have measels or mumps/polio/rubella. Or die from eating food that hasn't been inspected. Also since the data centers will be using up all the water, we will be in the middle of the Water Wars. Or AI will kill us all before any of that is happens. The takeaway here is I already dint expect to get anything out of SS.

u/EllaB9454 17h ago

Excellent point!

1

u/unlordtempest 11h ago

Also, it's of the current president's making. None of us here want this. He put himself on a coin that is going to be fucking circulated for god's sake. The first living president who's likeness is on actual money and it's THIS buffoon. All the horrible shit he's done/will do is bad enough. Now this. He must have a team of assholes that do nothing but hold meetings and be talking about, "Heh, heh, heh! How can we really fuck up everyone's shit today? Heh, heh, heh!"

5

u/Actual_Extreme_4452 18h ago

"Putting my boots on the ground" in another country's military is a constitutional crime in my country, Turkey. AFAIK it also is in Germany, and I assume many other countries.

So would I be a borderline traitor for Ukraine? No. I'd prefer not abandoning my country that I took an oath to defend.

Especially when the middle east is mixing shit in a kettle.

4

u/Kruegon 18h ago edited 17h ago

I care greatly. The idea of "Not my monkeys, not my circus" does not work when talking about global powers. John Donne's words should resound with anyone who has compassion. Those who do not understand, will never do more than shrug. "Any man's death diminishes me, for I am involved in mankinde" holds no better reference than it does today. A quote from 1624AD has more relevance now than it did 400 years ago. But in the category of questions not answered, what CAN we do? What are YOU doing? The best I can do is to support the efforts in place to back up the defense of Ukraine. We, as the Allied Nations, can not get involved without chancing to spark WWIII.

5

u/Eric_12345678 18h ago

FWIW, I donate 50€ to https://u24.gov.ua/ every time I can.

As much as I'd like to donate for education and science, I mostly select drones and air defense, because there wouldn't be anything left of Ukraine otherwise.

1

u/DangNearRekdit 15h ago

Ahh, but I pushed the button harder when I did it.

3

u/Fit-Let8175 18h ago

Actually, you'd be surprised how even knowing people are supporting you verbally helps. It's the silence that is crippling.

I have multiple relatives in Ukraine. One recently moved to my city with his wife and 2 young children about a year ago.

4

u/Significant_Meet_613 18h ago

Does paying Ukrainian webcam girls count?

8

u/MediocreDesigner88 18h ago

It’s not nothing.

0

u/BroDoc22 18h ago

Right? Keyboard warriors spend so much time “caring” if you care so much suit up and join the militia lmao. There’s nothing we can do this is war

10

u/AsianMysteryPoints 18h ago edited 18h ago

By your logic, nobody should ever advocate for or against anything they're not personally involved in.

People care about things they have no direct power to change all the time. It's called discourse.

1

u/BroDoc22 8h ago

Also a waste of time. Spend it on bettering yourself or being with your family.

-1

u/Humbus 18h ago

This is sound logic. Anything else is just virtue signaling. #lookatmeimsosupportive #isntitcoolhowsupportiveiam #wordssupportmorethanaction #imsuchagoodperson

8

u/justagoddamnperson 18h ago

Bro you’re just vice-signaling. Congrats, so edgy and superior to those lame, cringe virtue signalers!

-2

u/Humbus 17h ago

Vice signaling? Did you just write that joke, or did you steal it from someone else? Like the virtue you steal by claiming to be an activist while you do nothing that ACTUALLY effects the situation. It's all a front so you can sleep better at night knowing you "did something". So don't accuse me of vice signaling, for just pointing out the fact that even if someone is doing "something" in America, it has no real time effect on the war at hand. Only your tax dollars do anything. Everything else is just...pointless. Just look at Tibet, still not free no matter how many bumper stickers we put on our cars. What about the Uyghur Muslim genocide in China you are pretending doesn't exist, so you can watch the new live action Mulan movie that was filmed less than 5 miles from their concentration camps. But it was sooooo cool of Disney to thank that gracious province of China in the credits.

8

u/AsianMysteryPoints 17h ago

You realize you're literally on the internet complaining about something you have no power to affect, right?

-2

u/Humbus 17h ago

Yes. Look at me virtue signal! I'm so shiny! I can sleep at night knowing I said my piece on a subreddit somewhere! I'm a good person because I am TRYING to enact change! The hypocrisy was purposeful, thank you for being the only one to see it or point it out.

6

u/justagoddamnperson 17h ago

…it wasn’t a joke. But damn, your post sounds like one. 😳you’re having a mental breakdown and going on a rant about Mulan and China because someone disagrees with you 😭 I never even saw the original Mulan and I sure as hell won’t see a live action one, but there you are inventing things to get mad at

1

u/Jarrahtable 17h ago

It's hardly fake. Are you Chinese?

The Chinese government has detained more than one million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in a system of mass internment camps and coercive assimilation policies since 2017. Key Abuses include but are not limited to... Mass Detention: Imprisonment of over a million people in heavily guarded camps officially termed "vocational training centers". Forced Labor: Coercive transfer of detainees to factories and fields producing textiles, solar components, and agricultural goods. Reproductive Control: Forced sterilizations, mandatory abortions, and birth control quotas aimed at reducing the Uyghur birth rate. Cultural and Religious Erasure: Destruction of mosques, shrines, and cemeteries, alongside bans on fasting, growing beards, and speaking the Uyghur language. Surveillance and Family Separation: Deployment of high-tech facial recognition systems, digital tracking, and the placement of children in state-run boarding schools.

u/Humbus 17h ago

Yes, Disney's live-action Mulan was partly filmed in the Xinjiang region of China, and the film's credits explicitly thanked government and security entities tied to the region's Uighur detention camps.

Filming Location and ScaleLocation: Production used landscape backdrops in Xinjiang, including the Kumtag Desert for desert scenes. Duration: Disney later stated that filming in Xinjiang lasted for roughly four days, while the majority of the movie was shot in New Zealand and other parts of China.

The Controversy Over the CreditsAcknowledgments: The closing credits offered a "special thanks" to eight government entities in Xinjiang. Security Agencies: This included the Public Security Bureau in the city of Turpan—an agency widely reported to be directly involved in managing and running the mass detention and "re-education" camps holding over a million Uighur Muslims and other minorities. Propaganda Departments: The credits also thanked the publicity department of the Chinese Communist Party's Xinjiang committee.

To people who lack empathy beyond their monkeybrain circle, seeing it in others must be truly perplexing.

#sociopathy

#ASPD

#MAGA

0

u/Humbus 17h ago

I'm far from a sociopath. I just don't believe in compassion for compassion's sake. I can't empathise with them I have no way to relate to their experience. I can only sympathize, and sympathy is hollow. So I don't waste my time with hollow expressions of concern. My tax dollars speak for me.

7

u/Til-lee 18h ago

Disagree. Apart from straight up joining a foreign team in the armed forces or HUR you can raise funds, buy meds, volunteer at a plethora of NGOs inside and outside of Ukraine,, join druk-army, hell, even just raise awareness in your social circle.

3

u/FunGeologist218 18h ago

Druk army?

2

u/Til-lee 18h ago

A worldwide collective of 3D-printing people responding to requests and requirements of units, basically. :)

-1

u/Humbus 18h ago

None of which you are personally doing I'd wager. Other than annoying people in your personal circle by encouraging them to get active, while that's the only thing you actively do...encourage others to do something, so hopefully you don't actually have to.

3

u/Til-lee 18h ago

You'd wager wrong, i am afraid.

-6

u/Humbus 18h ago

BS, if you were doing anything like that you would have posted links for support. You would have marketed yourself better. Because you attended one event, or donated a few bucks once, doesn't make you an activist. You just showed up for the participation trophy.

5

u/Til-lee 18h ago edited 17h ago

I have nothing to prove to a nihilistic, sad and lonely man on reddit, i am afraid. I am not in need to generate funds for my work either.

I also wouldn't want someone like you on my team, even if your weren't being a dick for clout. ;]

Meet you in whats left of Slov i f you grow up [and some spine] tho. A drivers license, self-sufficiency, the ability to drive a manual and some conscience usually is enough to participate. :]

-5

u/Humbus 17h ago

You're right I am a nihilist, you sure got me there lolololol. Why does that make me sad and lonely though? How can you even pretend to know that? Probably like you pretend to know your efforts have effect on the war in Ukraine! Delusion is a powerful drug. Sounds like you could use a healthy dose of Nihilism as well.

-5

u/Humbus 17h ago

No you won't, you'll be in the gulags along with everyone else...useful idiot.

Some of us have real jobs

1

u/Til-lee 4h ago

And some of us can support a couple weeks or months abroad a year with their salaries. Most won't. All but two of these options above are perfectly doable on a 9-5.

If you want to. Acting like its impossible only because don't care is just being a cunt for the same of it. :] Plenty of full time volunteers over here.

10

u/CoatCommercial1573 18h ago

Yes, because solidarity is so hypocritical. You know not everyone has the ability to join the fight for any number of reasons such as personal health, family members that need constant care, legal restrictions, etc.

3

u/Defiant-Story-8733 18h ago

It's a bloody start.

5

u/buckeye25osu 18h ago

Here are some things Americans CAN do:

Donate to vetted Ukranian charities or charities that support them.

Buy Ukranian made products.

Call or write your Congressmen.

Join marches and rallies.

Vote in lawmakers and executives that will support Ukraine.

America's real power is in our numbers. Things often feel hopeless at an individual level but multiply efforts by 20, 50, 100, 200 million and it makes a difference.

1

u/noreservationskc 18h ago

If you’re an American: Show up and vote, and vote Democrat. Because no amount of “I support Ukraine” from a Republican is ever going to make them go against the occupant of the White House.

1

u/Amazing_Station_7943 17h ago

I think this person ment government, not regular people like you. Thank you for your support.

1

u/A_Skyless_God 16h ago

Our government has given nearly 200 billion dollars in aid to support Ukraine.

1

u/Great_Narwhal6649 16h ago

Check out their direct donation option at https://u24.gov.ua/, the official fundraising platform of ukraine!

1

u/A_Skyless_God 16h ago

Yes. Citizens and companies of the USA have donated nearly 2 billion in Monday and supplies and the federal government has given 200 billion.

We are supporting Ukraine and do care.

1

u/holyhottamale 16h ago

If you are interested, I have an American friend that is serving in Ukraine as a medic. I was matched with him through PAV so it is all legit.

Let me know if you want info!

-3

u/Izmetg68 18h ago

I donated about $650 myself did the comics for Ukraine fundraiser and for some nice books to remember the tragedy in our lifetime

3

u/A_Skyless_God 18h ago

Good.. now get the idea out of your head that just because you helped, nobody else did. Private citizans and businessess in America alone have donated an estimated 2 billion dollars in cash and supplies and the USA government has passed along almost two hundred billion tax dollars in in support and weapons.

We are supporting Ukraine.

-1

u/TheWandererKing 18h ago

This. I work for a major east coast city doing everything I can do (which is not very much) to keep the city from decaying due to the actions and lifestyles of its own citizens. I spend my off time trying to unsee what I see every day. My weekends are spent with my son and my girlfriend as we attempt to just stay above water financially (she owns a home and I rent across the state).

How am I supposed to do anything in our current political structure? When is the revolution scheduled? who's in charge of the resistance? YOU MEAN THE RUDEST, MOST PURITY TESTING LEFTIES?

The right won and we didn't do shit so here we are, watching the left cry because they can't accept the reality of centrist apathy.

4

u/thejourneybegins42 18h ago

Human safari. Disgusting.

19

u/Scope_Dog 20h ago

Yep, most of the people in the US just shrug.

3

u/tomspy77 18h ago

Partially now as we have our own Putin and just yesterday we bombed a bloody wedding...sadly it was planned that way I think and now we gotta stop the illegal war here before we have the onus (or competent leadership) to focus elsewhere.

3

u/molotavcocktail 16h ago

I just heard there were military diplomats families at the wedding. smh

3

u/prince_peacock 18h ago

A large segment now believe Ukraine is the problem after Dear Leader told them so

-1

u/Humbus 18h ago

Who really IS the problem? I suppose that's a matter of perspective. We will only know "for sure" when it's over and the winner writes the history.

-8

u/NoArea5699 18h ago

What a pathetic person. I don’t care about Trump. I voted for him because I don’t agree with the Democrat platform on anything. I never cared about Ukraine. Never have and never will.

5

u/justagoddamnperson 18h ago

- he said while on his knees for pedophile protectors

-1

u/Upper_Type7625 18h ago

Or are too occupied hating Israel to notice.

9

u/Fritzypooo 18h ago

you can be opposed to multiple conflicts at once, you know.

-6

u/Sunhating101hateit 18h ago

Tell that to the people that are too occupied hating (only) Israel to notice…

0

u/Fritzypooo 16h ago

you do know there's an objective difference between Americans protesting Israel and Americans protesting Russia right?

The US doesn't send our tax dollars to russia...

6

u/VincereZero 18h ago

Most sane people oppose both genocides. The one Israel is attempting and the one Russia is attempting

3

u/WallInternational171 18h ago

Swear people assume so much about us that live in the United States but really have no clue. News flash the usa is the most diverse country on the planet and the people living here opinions are just as diverse. While one might not see the point in paying for a war half way around the world for country's that would never do the same if given the opportunity while others think we should for morals and simple right and wrong. But most people disagree with genocide regardless of who's behind it. And just because a ecountry is America's ally doesn't mean the American people agree with anything and or everything they do, or how they handle things. Nor do I assume to understand fully what is going on over there based off a biased one sided news agency tells us.

2

u/Emotional_Kiwi_517 18h ago

I'm from the US and I don't hate Israel but I don't hate Palestinians either. I hate war especially over a chunk of ground. Centuries of death for a piece of ground. Two books based on peace and acceptance but because they differ from each other in some beliefs blood must be spilled. It's not exclusive to that region it's world wide. If we could work together we would have already beaten cancer and many other terminal diseases that affect so many loved ones. Cancer doesn't care what religion you are it will happily kill you. MS, Alzheimers, Lou Gehrig disease makes you watch the people you love disappear. How about instead of working so hard on killing each other we work hard together killing those diseases. Sorry for the rant.

2

u/ContractElegant4310 17h ago

When have the Tanakh, the Quran, or the Christian Bible (Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant versions) ever been "based on peace and acceptance"? That's a highly selective cherrypicking of those books, to put it mildly.

2

u/farfly7 18h ago

Or the rest that are too occupied watching their own country fall apart at the hands of a madman

1

u/Gosa_on_the_wind 18h ago

I wouldn't say "most of the people". That's like saying most of the people voted for Trump.

There's a small segment that believe anything they are told. There's a larger segment that only want their taxes to pay for things from which they directly benefit. There's probably an equally large segment that support Ukraine. And there's also that segment that for whatever reason haven't really decided.

I don't think "most of the people" can agree on anything, let alone being apathetic about Russia bombing the crap out of a small neighboring country.

0

u/RubSad1836 18h ago

No they don’t, people still have Ukrainian flags on their cars for a war half a world away that has nothing to do with them, our taxes still send them billions, we do our part it’s Europe that’s not doing there’s

2

u/LazzaBeast 18h ago

That was a fair description earlier in the war, but it’s outdated now. Europe and Canada are currently paying for most of the support to Ukraine, including buying large quantities of US-made weapons for Ukraine. The US is still a vital supplier, but it’s no longer accurate to say America is doing its part while Europe isn’t.

0

u/Chaos328 18h ago

As in most of the rest of the world lol? What are you doing besides running your mouth and talking shit online? Unless you are getting involved in the war, or politics and attempting to make some type of change... is that not what you are doing? Shrugging? Rather talking and doing nothing? I don't see any difference.

Besides the US supplying most of the ammunition and supplies, patriots, and financial aid...then the rest of Europe (collectively btw) is the second largest supporter... Who do you think pays for that lol I quite literally do with my tax dollars, as i shrug...

2

u/CashmereLicks 17h ago

Besides the US supplying most of the ammunition and supplies, patriots, and financial aid...then the rest of Europe (collectively btw) is the second largest supporter... Who do you think pays for that lol I quite literally do with my tax dollars, as i shrug...

That hasn't been true for some time unfortunately. The last significant US donation was at the end of 2024. Since then Europe or Ukraine have been buying the weapons and supplies. The US, as a proportion of GDP and in real terms, is contributing less than Europe by quite some way. Remember there is an EU contribution and individual country contributions.

https://www.kielinstitut.de/research/topics/war-against-ukraine/ukraine-support-tracker/

1

u/Humbus 18h ago

I'm with this person, my tax dollars are doing enough. I don't need to do shit for the Ukraine. I need to worry about what my tax dollars aren't paying for, like rent relief, grocery assistance, medical care for underfunded families, houses for underfunded families. There's approximately 150,000 homeless children in this country right now. We got our own shit to worry about. My mom always told me, "clean up your own back yard before you attempt to clean up someone else's". Wiser words were never spoken.

1

u/fugaziozbourne 18h ago

Churches. He's been bombing churches, especially lately.

1

u/notreading-scanning 18h ago

Your comment severely ignores that the largest counties of the world are funding and producing equipment to Ukraine.

1

u/AdvantageExpress 17h ago

We will not keep helping a losing ukraine. The goal is to end the war, and peace talks will not work. Let russia have what they want. If you cant defend yourself...

1

u/EquipmentFormal2033 18h ago

This sounds oddly American

1

u/Fit-Let8175 18h ago

And it's absolutely disgusting how some people side with Putin simply because Trump likes him. EVEN IN CANADA!!

1

u/alwayshungrybeast 15h ago

Is genocide the new label like nazi ? Its being thrown around alot since Israel started their Genocide lmao. Are people trying to dilute the word ?

Destroying books and attacking education although it is a dirty and unnecessary tactic in war it is not Genocide. Educate yourself on the definition
