A bit ago somebody posted a thread asking which celebrities are universally loved (paraphrasing).

It's criminal that Terry wasn't on the top of that list.

A lot of "alpha males" look down on him because he's open about his weaknesses and doesn't hide his emotions.

tbh I think it's more that people haven't seen him in stuff recently so he's fallen out of the news cycle.

i love terry and i think he's a treasure and a gift to humanity that we do not deserve

but also, I wouldn't have thought of him if asked to name beloved celebrities because he's just fallen out of the spotlight a bit.

He's the host of America's Got Talent. That's why I even started watching that show.

He's always supportive even to folks that get voted out, and the times he's got the Golden Buzzer (he didn't get one at first) he almost always gives it while giving a short speech with tears about something that the act moved in him.
