Lawyer here. That’s true most of the time, but sometimes one side will want lawyers/paralegals/(insert educated profession here) because they feel a case is overly complicated and having someone who understands and can explain to the others is beneficial

You would know much better then me. Anecdotally, I can only say my mother never had it happen to her...and her peers reported the same general experience. Then again, it could be somewhat regional and/or that just one of those more complicated cases never came up at the same time.

It’s more so that one side didn’t want your mom on the jury because they thought she would have a bias towards the other side.
