i’m just kind of realizing this but it’s not their fault.

our institutions have failed us: whether it’s failures in our education system, lies spread by the mainstream media, or a culture where intelligence and intellectual curiosity is looked down on.

regular people can only do so much with the resources they have.

and by “our institutions” i actually mean that republicans are solely to blame for the failures of these systems.

edit: btw the judges words nearly brought a tear to my eye. if only our justice system actually worked in the manner intended.

It might be better to say the combined "information" of humanity.

There is a lot of incorrect information available to everyone, and many people get fed tons of incorrect information from birth and it basically corrupts the most basic premises that they are then using to develop their perspective for the rest of their lives.

People have agency and responsibility.

I’m left of center but as you go further left every single negative outcome is the responsibility of the state. No one can ever be blamed for their personal failings. ESPECIALLY if they come from some disenfranchised group.
