Much in the same vein of RoguePlanet2, I'm an elder millennial with a BS in comp sci and halfway through an MBA. I did my time in the navy and it absolutely opened my eyes to what the lowest common denominator is in a given group. Empathy is crucial to a functional society. Also, as a government employee I'm obligated to serve jury duty if called. its a necessity to keep everything humming along.
