Can he not have clauses baked in to ownership transfers etc? I feel as well as he has managed everything so far I do hope he has plans already in place.

I don't know about company ownership transfers, but I know that when it comes to land ownership, you're not allowed to put any kind of perpetuities regarding the land in your will. You can't just say " this land that I own shall never be built upon for the rest of time". You can put those kinds of clauses in your will for up to I think 20 years after you die, but after that those contractual provisions expire.

I imagine there's a similar mechanism for business contracts

Everything this is brought up, I keep seeing that Gaben is doing everything right. Which is rare since every news only gets worst and worst. But Steam is like the only bright spot so far (please dont age like milk)
